Chapter 850

Beryl was rather surprised when he first received the call from Colton. Why is he calling at this hour? "Is anything

the matter, Colton?" Beryl asked as he tried his best to stifle a yawn. Colton didn't bother with pleasantries—he got

straight to the point. "I want you to send your men into the Gould Family."

Beryl took a moment to process what the other man was saying. "What?"

"I'm talking about Siobhan's house," Colton replied in his deep voice. "Isn't that Gabriel's mother? Are you talking

about her house?" Beryl asked puzzledly.

"Yeah. Siobhan had a birthday celebration at her place today, and I got drugged after attending the event. I want

you to find the person responsible for this." Colton felt exasperated just talking about how he had been drugged.

"You were drugged?" Beryl couldn't contain the surprise in his voice. "What drug was it?" he asked. Colton felt a

mixture of embarrassment and frustration when he heard the other man's question. "Just do your job. Why do you

need to know?"

Beryl was even more amused to hear the hint of rage in Colton's voice. They had known each other for a long time

now, but Beryl had never once witnessed Colton being on the verge of losing his temper. It seems like he's really

furious this time. And… judging by the tone of his voice, I think my guess is right. Beryl let out a laugh before he

spoke in a rather playful tone. "Alright. I got it. Well, I'm sure you enjoyed yourself even after being drugged," he

uttered.

Baryl was rathar surprisad whan ha first racaivad tha call from Colton. Why is ha calling at this hour? "Is anything

Colton ended the call with a grumpy look on his face. He had been in a bad mood ever since he got tricked earlier.

As he ran his fingers through his wet hair, he couldn't help but scroll through his phone in search of Nicole's

number. After some hesitation, he finally tapped on the screen to phone her. However, his call only rang a few

times before it ended.

A look of displeasure spread across the man's face. How dare she end my call? After thinking about it for a while,

Colton ended up sending Nicole a text. 'I lost control of myself today. However, since I'm such a rich, reputable, and

good-looking man, I don't think you should have any complaints,' he stated. After drafting his message, Colton let

out a satisfied smirk before he sent it out.

After Colton's attempt to 'fool around' with her, Nicole was no longer in the mood to stay at the party. She looked

around for Zachary and told him that she was tired and wanted to head home. Zachary didn't ask any questions—

he led Nicole over and bid goodbye to Siobhan before they left. While they were in the car, Nicole lowered her head

and scrolled through her phone while Zachary kept his focus on the road.

The car ride had been peaceful until their silence was disrupted by Colton's call. After what happened with William,

Nicole deleted Colton's number from her phone. However, her good memory allowed her to recognize the phone

number when she saw it. Nicole immediately ended the call after she was reminded of what had happened earlier

that night. But to her surprise, the man was persistent—he gave her a second call.

Zachary finally asked, "What is it? Why aren't you picking up the phone?"

Nicole lowered her gaze. "It's probably some scammer calling."

Zachary chuckled. "Yeah. There are a lot of scammers who are pretty dedicated nowadays. They try a second time

even when you don't pick your phone up the first time."

"Yeah," Nicole mumbled. She was just about to block Colton's number when she saw that Colton had sent her a text.

Her grip on her phone tightened after she saw what the man had texted her. Why didn't I realize how shameless

this man was in the past? 'Get lost,' Nicole texted while gritting her teeth.
