Three days had passed since then.

"Wake up!" Renee felt like she was floating in the sky.

She saw a ray of light, and slowly approached it.

It looked like it led into another world— one with no sadness, regret, or separation.

In that world, Renee's family of four lived a complete and happy life.

"Mommy, please wake up.

It's Abby..." While walking, Renee felt something warm and soft in her palm, and heard Abby's pitiful sobbing.

She abruptly opened her eyes and found herself lying on a hospital bed.

Abby, Leia, Quinton, and Justin were gathered around her.

"What's going on? Am | still alive?" Renee whispered, looking dazed.

She felt like she had been about to reach heaven earlier, and the feeling had been so real that this world felt like

an illusion to her.

"Stop messing around! If you were sent here late, or if the hospital didn't have enough blood, you would be dead

by now!" Quinton scowled, looking concerned and angry.

He was upset that Renee had suffered so much, and furious that it had been for that useless Stefan.

This situation kept repeating itself, and Quinton found it unacceptable.

"Oh, I'm glad I'm still alive." Renee nodded calmly, then realized something else.

Immediately, she asked, "Where's Stefan? Where's Adie? Are they okay?" "Stefan is fine.

You don't have to worry about him." Leia held Renee's hand and sighed deeply.

"Although a very strange venom poisoned him, your blood automatically cured him.

He regained consciousness on the spot...

but you had it hard.

You had given him so much of your blood that the doctor said they wouldn't have been able to save you if you

got here any later.

How could you be so careless? Do you know how worried we were?" Leia felt sorry for Renee and was

disappointed at how she constantly did stupid things for Stefan's sake.

"| think Stefan doesn't have the right to be with you.

Phoenix, | wouldn't have made you suffer like this if you were with me.

| wouldn't have taken your blood either just to survive.

That's too selfish!" Justin sounded indignant.

Initially, he accepted not being with

Renee, but if she chose to be with an unreliable man like Stefan and risked

her life so many times for him, Justin felt like he couldn't back off.

"He didn't do it on purpose.

He was about to die, and if | didn't give him my blood he would be dead by now Renee explained reasonably.

"I saved him for the sake of the kids.

If he wasn't their father, | wouldn't have cared about him." "You're just stubborn.

You still risked your life for him in the past when you didn’t have kids, Leia scoffed

"The kids..." Renee looked at Abby, whose eyes were red from crying, then looked around.

She turned to the others with a frown and asked, "Where's Adie?" 2
