“It’s fun following you around! I never had a chance to splurge like you just now. Why aren’t there any
crazy women causing trouble for me?”
Rolling her eyes again, Winnie said, “You have a problem.”
“What are you guys talking about? I don’t understand,” asked Lisanne with furrowed brows.
Lucas explained, “We met a crazy woman just now. Let me fill you in.”
Meanwhile, Shania came out from the fitting room after Winnie and the others left.
The dress she threw to the ground was picked up by the salesperson.
With her order, her assistant immediately went up to the salesperson.
Her assistant carefully asked, “The lady just now did not buy this dress, right? We’ll buy it.”
The salesperson was shocked by Shania’s audacity to buy the dress after complaining about the store
and the clothes. The latter even dumped the dress to the ground like it was garbage, and now she

After leaving Fairchild Corporation, Xavier went to pick her up at the hair salon.
Winnie wore a black tube dress with a small slit down the middle and a slit down the side. It was not
overly revealing but was still able to showcase her long legs and voluptuous figure.
Her porcelain white skin could instantly capture everyone’s attention as it was perfectly highlighted with
the stark contrast from the black dress.
Hence, Xavier frowned the moment he saw her.
Winnie waved at him after seeing his irked gaze.
Xavier strode over and said, “Are you trying to be the focus of the banquet? I haven’t seen you dressed
up like this for me.”
With raised brows, Winnie replied, “You scared me for a second there. I thought I look horrible judging
from the way you look at me earlier. So you think it is nice too.”
Xavier picked up a blanket on the couch and draped it over Winnie’s body. He said, “Stop saying
nonsense. Why did you pick this dress? It’s too revealing.”
After being rendered speechless for a moment, Winnie said, “Which conservative era are you from?
You call this revealing?”
While saying that, she took off the blanket and continued, “Let’s go. It’s time to go now. My purpose is
to attract everyone’s attention tonight. Don’t mess it up for me. You just have to be a shadow.”
Xavier knitted his brows and stubbornly pulled Winnie’s dress upward.
“For every millimeter you pull up, I’ll pull down two millimeters,” warned Winnie as she pointed a finger
at him.
Instantly, Xavier became upset.
In fact, he was upset the whole time they were leaving the salon because everyone was staring at his
wife.
By the time they entered Nate’s birthday banquet, more people were staring at Winnie. The media
reporters were taking pictures of her.
Everyone who knew Nate Fraser, knew Xavier Fairchild, and everyone who knew Xavier Fairchild,
knew his wife, Winnie Garland.
Originally, Xavier did not plan to attend Nate’s birthday banquet, so Nate stopped socializing and
immediately went to welcome Xavier and Winnie.
Nate’s action instantly attracted the media’s attention.
It was a well-known fact that Nate and his cousin, Xavier, were not on good terms because of a woman
many years ago.
Now, it seemed like they had mended their relationship. The media reporters immediately gathered

Some reporters remembered the news about Xavier and Winnie’s discord in marriage. They took this
chance to confirm if it was true.
Xavier was unhappy that the reporters and photographers were taking pictures of them, especially
pictures of Winnie.
Thus, he grabbed a bunch of microphones, indirectly covering Winnie’s chest.
Winnie found him thoughtful yet silly. She smiled as she answered the reporters’ questions.
“The news about our marriage being in shambles that was spiraling online is fake. It was a baseless
accusation, so you guys don’t have to pay much attention to it. We have a good relationship.”
A reporter quickly questioned, “But your brother from the Speiser family clearly denied your marriage.
So what’s going on with that? Is that baseless too?”

weddings. One in Chanaea, and one in Yartran. Please do not make groundless assumptions. Let’s
end the questions here. We have to get in now.”
After saying that, he handed all the microphones to Nate who was standing at a side, and entered the
venue with Winnie.
The people in the banquet venue were more quiet compared to the reporters. Plenty of them wanted to
network with Xavier but was scared by his unamiable aura.
Xavier sat down in a corner with Winnie. Feeling dissatisfied, he said, “These reporters are as annoying
as flies. Who knows what kind of articles would be cooked up this time? Once the articles are out, we’ll
add in some money to boost the publicity.”
Winnie looked at him and replied, “Do you think that’s enough? I mean to capture everyone’s
attention?”
“Is it not?” Both of them seemed to be referring to different things. Xavier took a glance at Winnie’s
dress and said, “I’ve had enough. Can we leave now?”
Winnie grabbed his tie and threatened, “It’s still too early. You’ve sat down for less than a minute. Don’t
foil my plan. I’ll hit you if you do.”
Xavier moved his face closer to her.
After tilting backward, she said, “What are you doing? Shall I beat you up?”
