“I understand,” Winnie said as she wore her gloves quickly.

Just as she reached out to take the letter, a white-gloved hand moved quicker than hers to take it.

It was Xavier’s.

“Let me do it,” he offered.

If there were an issue with the letter, he would rather put himself in danger than jeopardize the woman

he loved.

Even so, he was well aware that the letter was probably safe because it had gone through numerous

people, all of which appeared to be fine.

Nevertheless, Xavier did not want to place Winnie in danger as long as there was a sliver of chance

behind it.

He pulled out a chair to sit beside the table and carefully opened the letter to uncover a piece of folded

A4 paper.

There was no blood or powder on the paper, so it did not seem hazardous.

He unfolded the paper, revealing a black-and-white picture and an address.

It was a general address for a residential area with no specific house number.

Winnie was confounded. “What does this mean? Why would he send me a picture and an address?”

She stared at Xavier, confused. “Is this his hiding place? Does he want me to look for him?”

“Wait a moment,” Xavier softly replied as he turned to the security manager to ask for the surveillance

footage.

After the security manager left, he opened the surveillance footage on his laptop and said to Winnie,

“Let’s watch this first.”

“Okay!”

They watched the footage together and got a clear glimpse of the homeless man’s face on the screen.

Winnie observed him for a moment and uttered, “He didn’t try to conceal himself, and his height and

build are wrong. He’s definitely not Harold. He must have found a random person to do this.”

“I guess so.” If that was the case, the footage had no use to them. Xavier closed his laptop before

continuing, “Let’s call the police and give this letter to Captain Gibson. I don’t want you to go alone no

matter what Harold’s trying to do.”

Winnie nodded. “I’ll send the picture to him now, but I still want to go to the police station.”

“All right, but I’m going with you.” Xavier did not object.

After experiencing so much with Xavier, Winnie recognized that a couple had to not only enjoy the

positive moments together but also bear the difficult times together.

Being in a relationship meant they had to share their joys and sorrows together.

With that, they decided to find David first.

When they arrived, David and the others had already pinpointed an approximate area.

They were knowledgeable and efficient in this regard, deducing that it was a slum residence in the

suburbs near a disposal area.

As the rent for such housing was extremely cheap, they were typically inhabited by low-income workers

and couriers.

David said, “We were looking into the homeless man and suspected he might be living in this region.

You received the letter just as we were getting nowhere. With this picture, our target has become

clearer.”

Winnie frowned. “Right. This is such a coincidence.”

However, the more coincidental it was, the more terrifying it was as Harold had planned all this!

Winnie knew he would not be there even if they traveled to the address’ location because he had

already predicted their movements.

She explained her reservations to David and suggested that he bring their canines and a bomb

disposal team.

If it was all part of Harold’s plan, the police might suffer a devastating loss if he planted a bomb in the

slum house.

“Okay. What you said makes sense.” David took Winnie’s suggestion. At the same time, he told Winnie

and Xavier to wait at the police station for new information.

However, Winnie had already made up her mind.

David and the others soon left, and Xavier and Winnie’s car followed close behind.

As the suburbs was rather far from the city, they drove for more than an hour before reaching their

destination.

The canines entered the residential area first. The rest followed them after a thorough search.

The slum house in the picture Winnie received had a gigantic metal tin in front of it. Since it was a

conspicuous signpost, they were able to readily locate the house in the picture.

There was no lock on the door, and the door was already half-open. After the canines made sure that

there was no bomb, David entered the house first.

As expected, there was no one in the house.

It was a small and narrow space, so one could see the entire room with a single glance.

It was a messy place with trash piled up everywhere.

However, there was a small space on the table next to the window, which was spotlessly clean.

Moreover, there was a small cardboard box.

Looking at the size of it, Winnie immediately recalled the bloody parcel she had previously received.

“Captain Gibson, let’s take a look inside this box,” she said as she pointed at it.

David instantly instructed someone to do so.

They quickly found that there was a male doll inside the cardboard box.

It was the same kind of doll Winnie had received before.

The only difference was that there was a word, Woods, carved into the doll’s face. There was no blood

on his body, and his belly had no holes. However, there was wire around his neck.

Winnie’s heart jolted when she saw this scene.

This is Harold’s doing. This is definitely not a joke. He already killed Mason, so this may be a clue to his

next victim! This victim must have already been strangled to death!

Winnie immediately thought of the car owner whose car had been stolen by Harold.

She turned to David and asked, “Is the missing car owner’s last name Woods?”

“That’s right!” David had derived the connection between these two too. With a serious expression, he

asked his subordinate, “Did you bring John Woods’ clothes?”

“Yes, I did. It’s in the car. I’ll go and get it.”

The clothes had been provided by John’s family members when they made the police report so that the

canines could search for him using his scent.

Soon, the subordinate brought John’s clothes over.

The police immediately search the area with the canines using the scent.

Even though there was a disposal zone directly behind the slum house, the canines were competent

and determined the area.

One of the canines knocked down a pile of cans, revealing a limb.

The police discovered John’s body after clearing the rest of the trash.

John’s body was the same as the doll’s. There was a coil of wire around his neck.

Winnie took a quick glance before looking away.

She clenched her fists tightly. Harold is a devil! He killed another innocent person cruelly. He has to go

to hell for what he did!

While everyone was immersed in their sorrow for such a cruel and gruesome murder, a canine

suddenly pulled out a box.

There was another doll in the box.

This time, it was a female doll, but there was no method of death portrayed.

However, the word, Marsh, was displayed on the doll’s face.
