I'm just worried that the fuss being kicked up by Ms. Bailey might drastically affect Luther Group.
Although the fall in stock price isn't a big deal, my concern is—”
Amidst a wave of his hand, Artemis replied in a nonchalant tone, “Just let her be. In spite of my limited
abilities, I'm still able to shelter her from the threats looming about her head.”
Dwayne's eyes were filled with mixed emotions.
Has he been driven mad by his affection for Bailey? Just to elicit a smile from her, he is willing to
accommodate her actions at the expense of Luther Group's reputation. This is a really big sacrifice to

“Did you decide to go along with the shareholders' wishes just so they would beg on their knees for her
to come back?”
Artemis snorted before replying in a mocking tone, “I'm sure you have seen for yourself how ruthless
they were in the conference room just now. If only they had listened to Bailey and agreed to let her deal
with the matter, Luther Group would have avoided any trouble. Instead, they kicked her out in their
smugness, assuming Emmy Boutique would hold her accountable. Unknown to them, they are faced
with someone who's even more merciless than they are.”

continue ranting.
“Why are you behaving like a child when you're already an adult? Is it necessary to overreact to
something so trivial? Vicky, do I look like a pushover to you?”
Stunned, Victoria narrowed her eyes. “Is there something you're not telling me?”
Bailey reached out to pinch her cheek with a smile. “Why are you even surprised? I have been hiding
plenty from you. In fact, I've already lost count of the number of times I did it.”
“Bay...” Victoria's voice trailed off as she gave Bailey a reproachful look.
“All right now. I know you're just worried about me, but it really isn't necessary. Someone is trying to set
