Chapter 141

Larissa closed her eyes and suppressed her rising frustration.

She pointed towards the bathroom. “There’s a socket on the wall next to the sink. Go there and dry

your hair before coming out.”

“Okay.” Lana unplugged the hairdryer and entered the bathroom obediently.

Larissa got off the bed and wiped up the puddle of water with tissue paper.

By the time Lana had finished blow-drying her hair, Larissa was already fast asleep.

Lana climbed into bed with Larissa and burrowed under her blanket. Grabbing her arm, she shook it

vigorously, calling her sister’s name.”

Larissa

Lana persisted until she finally woke Larissa up.

Unable to put up with her antics any longer, Larissa snapped impatiently. “What’s the matter?”

Lana was startled by her sharp tone and bit on her lower lip, tears welling up in her eyes. “I can’t sleep.

I wish to talk to you for a while. However, if you’re tired, it’s okay. You can go back to sleep. Don’t mind

me.” Lana wiped away her tears with the back of her hand as she

forced a smile. After saying that, she rolled over, facing away from Larissa.

Larissa could clearly hear her sniffles and see her restless movements. Letting out a heavy sigh,

Larissa chose to compromise. She asked in a gentler tone. “What do you want to talk about?”

“Larissa, go to sleep!” Lana hurriedly said. “You don’t need to worry about me!”

“It’s okay. I’m not tired.” Larissa denied it, although her words contradicted how she truly felt. “I’ll chat

with you for a while and then go to sleep.”

Lana turned around and asked doubtfully, “Really? Are you sure?”

“Yes, really,” Larissa replied.

Immediately. Lana hugged Larissa and rubbed her face against her sister’s chest, exclaiming. “You’re

the best!”

Larissa chuckled.

“By the way, why is there no trace of another person in your house? I noticed that you only have your

toiletries in the bathroom,” Lana asked.

“I’m living alone, so of course, there are only my toiletries.”

“Then, has Mr. Rogers never stayed overnight at your place?” Lana seemed very interested in Larissa’s

relationship with Kevan.

“No,” Larissa answered firmly.

Lana’s voice trailed off. Inexplicably, she sounded pleased at Larissa’s reply. Then, she continued.

“Anyway, Larissa-Lana suddenly sat up and accidentally bumped her head into Larissa’s chin.

“Ow!” Larissa took a sharp breath and held her throbbing chin.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” Lana apologized in a panic.

“It’s alright.” Larissa gently rubbed her sore jaw and continued with a grimace, “What did you want to

say?” Her pronunciation was unclear due to the pain.

Lana’s attention was instantly diverted. Since Mr. Rogers helped me out so much today, I will buy him

something in return and go to his place to thank him tomorrow!”

Larissa rejected her suggestion. “He doesn’t like people going to his house.”

“Then we can go to his office!”

“We would only disturb him at work.”

“We can go during lunch break and have a meal together!” Lana seemed unwilling to give up until she

achieved her goal.

Larissa sighed in exasperation. “Sut yourself”

Since Lana was unwilling to listen to her advice, there was no point in continuing this fruitless

conversation.

Having decided to meet Kevan Lana began to think about what gift to get him. “Giving flowers and fruits

is too cliché, and Mr. Rogers might not ever like them. He probably wouldn’t accept an expensive gift,

but I can’t give him something too cheap either

Suddenly, she smacked herself on the forehead. “How about cooking a meal for him? Let’s get up early

to buy groceries tomorrow! It won’t put too much pressure on him, and it will show my sincere

intentions to thank him. Isn’t it a great idea?”

Larissa was too exhausted to fully comprehend what Lana had just said. She simply replied, “Alright,
