Chapter 374 My Master Would Like to See You
The next morning, Jack and Edith were having breakfast in the dining hall while the driver
sent Aiden to school.
Amanda had to head to the law firm to check on the renovation progress, for she wanted
to start working sooner. It felt terrible staying at home all the time. Moreover, she wasn’t
someone who could stay idle. When she entered the dining hall and saw her parents, she
said, “Good morning, Mom and Dad.”
Jack replied with a smile, “Did you go to bed late last night? I heard that Elias stayed over.
Where is he?”
“Oh, he went to work early in the morning. He’ll be quite busy today,” Amanda explained
and sat down. beside Edith.
Just then, Crispin and Stephanie stepped into the dining hall as well. He instantly turned
from a violent husband into a humble son-in-law. “Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Allegra.
Steph and I will be heading to the airport after breakfast, so we’d like to bid you farewell
first.”
“Sure, just forget about everything else and have fun on your honeymoon trip. You must
take good care of my daughter, Crispin,” Edith said with a smile.
Crispin nodded with a smile and pulled out a chair for Stephanie to sit on.
When Amanda saw how hypocritical the man was, she said to her father nonchalantly,
“Any update on Steph’s case, Dad? I heard that Raymond committed suicide in prison.
Something fishy seems to be going
on.”
Crispin’s expression changed when he leard that. He was resentful of Amanda for being
sharp-tongued and always targeting him.
“I’m still looking into the matter, but I haven’t found any clues yet.” Jack frowned at the
mention of this
matter.
Stephanie looked at Amanda, her gaze seemingly asking for help.
Amanda certainly understood her intentions, so she glanced at her sister and asked, “Are

exhausted from dealing with the wedding. Why don’t you get more rest instead?”
Stephanie, who was ready to agree with her sister, replied, “I-”
Before she could finish her words, Crispin cut her off. “Amanda, honeymoon is every
woman’s dream after a wedding, so I don’t want to let Steph regret not having the trip in
the future.”
Amanda sneered. “Do you think my sister is a mute or something? Why do you always
speak for her?”
At that, Crispin was startled for a moment. He smiled in embarrassment and glanced at
Stephanie with a gaze that seemed to act as a warning for her not to say any nonsense.
“I… I..” Stephanie was hesitant to tell everyone the truth. A moment later, she said to
Amanda, “I think I’ll go.”
When Jack noticed Amanda’s hostility toward Crispin, he reminded her by saying, “Crispin
is part of our family now, Amanda. As such, you have to be gentler to him. I heard that you
argued with his mother last night.”

“Dad, arguing with Mrs. Coyote was the last thing I wanted. However, she called me a
b*tch last night. Could you have put up with it if you were me?”
Jack appeared astounded. “What? Did she call you that?”
Crispin was flustered upon seeing the older man’s expression, so he hurriedly explained,
“I’m sorry, Mr. Allegra. My mother is a village woman who can be brusque sometimes, so
she may come across as rude to Amanda. I’ll apologize to all of you on her behalf. I’m truly
sorry.”
Disdain was written all over Jack’s face. “Tell your mother not to come again. We want
nothing to do with ill-mannered people. Also, I don’t want to hear anyone calling my
daughter names. If the same thing. happens again, don’t blame me for being harsh.”
With that, he got to his feet and left the dining hall.
Edith eased the tension with a smile, saying, “Alright, just make sure it won’t happen
again. Let’s have breakfast. You guys have to head to the airport, after all.
Crispin dipped his head with a smile, but a seed of resentment was planted in his heart. I
have to teach Amanda a lesson. Otherwise, she’ll destroy me sooner or later!
After breakfast, Amanda arrived at the law firm and saw that the renovation was almost
complete. She just had to buy some office supplies and hire some workers before her firm
could commence business.
Just then, she received a call from an unfamiliar number.
She took a look and realized it was a call from Esmos. Since she had no intention of
picking it up. rejected it straight away.

Since her return, most of her clients were from Cludan. She had also stopped contacting
her friends and former colleagues in Esmos.
Much to her surprise, she received a call from the same person again a moment later.
After hesitating for a bit, she decided to connect the call.
“Hello?”
“Are you Miss Bailey?”
Amanda was startled for a moment before replying, “Yes. Who are you?”
“Did you give birth to a child in Pleybia Hospital three years ago?”
A hint of doubt formed on Amanda’s alluring face. “What’s the matter?”
“You only have to reply yes or no.”
“What if it’s a yes?”
“Then, you’re the person we’re looking for.”
Amanda was perplexed as to what the other party was talking about. What does he mean
that I’m the one they’re looking for? “I don’t know what you’re talking about. What do you
want?”

The man replied, “We’ll be arriving in Cludan in five days. Let’s meet up by then. My
master see you.”
His master?
“Who is your master? Do I know him?”
She had many clients when she was in Esmos, but no one would be concerned about
where she had given birth. What are they up to?

contact number. For some reason, she had a feeling that the other party was dangerous.
When she was done monitoring the renovation progress in the evening, Elias called and
said he would like to have dinner with her.
She agreed to it and left the building, only to see the man waiting for her.
She got into the car and realized there was a hint of joy on the man’s handsome face. It
seemed that he was in a good mood. “Why are you treating me to a meal all of a sudden?
What’s the occasion?”
“Can’t I treat you to a meal for no reason? We can have dinner together whenever we feel
like it, right?” A smile formed on Elias’ face as he stepped on the gas pedal and left the
place.
They soon arrived at a restaurant that served Cludanian food. Elias didn’t let the woman
touch the menu since he knew she had trouble choosing dishes, so it would take her a
long time before she could even place an order. As such, he did the honors instead.
“I’m going on an overseas business trip, so I won’t be around for a week. Don’t confront
Crispin during this period, and I’ll deal with him when I return. Meanwhile, I’ll get Yacob to
protect you.”
“I’m not a fool, so I understand. You’d better take Yacob with you, for you’ll need a
bodyguard when you’re overseas. I stay at the Allegra Villa most of the time, so no one
can harm me.”
Amanda shrugged. No wonder he wants to treat me to a meal. He’s going on a business
trip for a week.
“Keep your guard up and protect yourself. Also, don’t forget about your promise. The man
curled his lips.
Amanda was startled for a moment before realizing he was talking about their remarriage.
She picked up her glass and took a sip of water. “I won’t go back on my word.”
