"Bright Town."
When Elijah spotted Amber approaching, he quickly walked over to her, his usual stern demeanor softening into one of warmth and
politeness as he took the items from her hands. "What took you so long?"
Feeling his grip on her hand, Amber chuckled lightly, "I wanted to pick up sgifts for your parents, got a bit held up."
"You didn't have to, your presence is more than enough."
As Amber glanced at Octavia still kneeling on the ground, she inquired, "Who's that?"
"Just a passerby."
Elijah shrugged off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders, "It's getting late, letshow you around. My mom will be moving
back in soon."
"Sounds good."
Octavia, witnessing Elijah's tenderness towards someone else, something she had once exclusively enjoyed, couldn't help but
regret her decisions. Had she known Elijah would rise again, she might not have severed ties with the Ulbricht family.
But who could predict the future?

Amber, well-acquainted with Elijah, guessed that Octavia was here to beg for mercy. The only mystery to her was whether Elijah
still harbored any feelings for Octavia.
In the end, it didn't matter. She and Elijah were married now.
Elijah led Amber into the Ulbricht residence.
"Bright Town, can't you spare us?" Octavia pleaded humbly, "What do you wantto do?"
Elijah didn't stop walking, "Octavia, this is simply tit for tat."
"Stay out of my life from now on."
With a loud thud, the door to the Ulbricht residence shut. Octavia remained kneeling outside, unable to leave for a long time.
Noticing Elijah's dampened spirits, Amber set aside the gifts and turned to him, "Bright Town, are you—"
"It's been a while since I've been home." Elijah cut her off, his eyes filled with nostalgia. "After three years, I've finally returned."
The Ulbricht mansion had changed hands and undergone many alterations. Remembering every inch of the original setup, Elijah
had it restored to its former glory.
"Amber, it's over betweenand Octavia." Elijah sensed Amber's concern. "From the moment we got married, we beca
family."
"Octavia means nothing tonow."
If she did, he wouldn't have sought revenge.
Amber embraced Elijah, "Bright Town, don't letdown."
After a long absence, Elijah, with emotions steadied, showed Amber around the place he grew up in. Amber was genuinely
interested in his past.
"My mom's looking forward to meeting you."
"It's about t| visited her in the hospital."
Elijah gripped her hand tightly, silently vowing never to let her down.
Amber cfrom a privileged background but was always down-to-earth, often taking care of Elijah. After the tour, she headed to
the kitchen to cook for Elijah. He loved her cooking.
"Need a hand?"
"No, you're still busy with work, go on."

Elijah was no chef. Amber shooed him out of the kitchen.
Settling down with his tablet in the living room, Elijah could see Amber bustling about in the kitchen. Suddenly, a heavy rain began
to fall outside, its large droplets beating against the window. A sense of unease washed over Elijah.
The day the Ulbricht family faced their crisis, Craneville experienced a once-in-a-decade storm. He remembered the Donahue
family's true colors and the faces of those who kicked him when he was down.
Ding-dong!
The security guard was on the phone.
He answered, "Mr. Ulbricht, Ms. Donahue has fainted, should we—"
"Throw her out."
A flicker of disgust crossed Elijah's eyes. Octavia's fainting was none of his concern.
"But, Ms. Donahue..." The guard, aware of their past, attempted to intercede.
"Octavia's matters don't need to be reported to me."
After hanging up, Elijah joined Amber in the kitchen, helping her cook.
