Chapter 479

Hattie was stunned. When did Allison and Ms. Flanagan get so close? Outsiders might not know, but they, who

worked for the Flanagan family, certainly did. Allison and Penelope’s relationship could be described as terrible,

especially because Penelope used to bully Allison in all sorts of ways.

Hattie studied Allison carefully, feeling that she seemed different somehow, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on

it. “Ms. Flanagan is in the garden; you can wait

in the living room.”

Allison walked into the living room. “Is Leah home?”

‘Mrs. Flanagan is out playing cards.”,

Allison entered the living room but didn’t sit down. She just took off her sunglasses and quietly looked around. This

place was very familiar to her. It could be said, she grew up here.

Hattie went to look for Penelope in the garden, but Penelope was nowhere to be found.

Allison walked out to the back balcony, where her old cabin was. The same old iron gate was there, and everything

else remained the same. She walked over and pushed the iron gate open. The once tidy yard was now overgrown

with grass. She bent down and pulled some out. When she looked up again, Allison was taken aback.

The yard looked different from her memory. The cherry blossom tree that had grown for more than ten years was

cut down, leaving just a stump. Something in her memory was triggered, and she sighed lightly. She just walked

over to the stump and looked at the tree rings.

“Well, if it isn’t Allison. Who let you in here? Should I call the cops for breaking and entering?”

Without turning around, Allison knew the sharp and sarcastic voice belonged to Margo. She just quietly said, “Okay,

you can call the cops.”

Of course, Margo wouldn’t really call the cops. She just wanted to scare Allison a little and vent some of her

frustrations.

Margo didn’t know whether it was because she was getting old or her body was just slow to heal, but her foot injury

hadn’t gotten better. Every time she saw Allison, she felt a pang in her foot. She stood on the second-floor balcony

and said, “No matter how fancy your clothes, you can’t hide your poverty. You’re just like your mother, looking at

you makes me sick.”

For some reason, Allison chuckled. She turned to Margo. “You’re right. Like mother, like daughter.”

The rising sun was slightly warm, but Margo felt a cold and sharp look from Allison’s eyes that left her speechless.

She turned around and went downstairs to tattle to Penelope. She looked around and couldn’t find Penelope, so she

called her, “Where are you?”

Penelope seemed busy. “Don’t call me if it’s not important!”

After hastily saying that, Penelope hung up. Margo searched around, Penelope, who was confined to a wheelchair,

was suddenly missing. She asked Hattie, “Where’s Ms. Flanagan?”

Hattie also had no clue. “Ms. Flanagan said she was going to the greenhouse, but there’s no one in there.”

It’s only been half an hour, where could she have gone?

Meanwhile, in the underground garage. A black Mercedes was parked next to a black wheelchair.

The car door was half open, and there were moans coming from inside. The car was rocking violently due to the

activities of the man and woman inside.
