Atticus Sinclair thought his mom was just being sweet, so he happily made his way over to Thalassa.
Thalassa grabbed his hand, pulling him close to her and Lysander, and with a cool tone, she said to Callum, "Mr. Gordon, regardless, thanks for sticking up forearlier." With that, she was ready to leave with Atticus in tow. Atticus, though young, could tell there was stension between his mom and Callum.

Atticus felt Thalassa's grip on his hand tighten. He looked up at her, noticing her furrowed brows and serious expression.
Weren't his mom and Callum good friends? Why did it seem like they were almost strangers now? As Atticus was lost in thought, Lysander's deep, magnetic voice broke the silence, "We'll wait for you in the car." Thalassa glanced at Lysander, surprised. She hadn't decided whether to talk to Callum alone, and here was Lysander, seemingly okay with it? Wasn't Lysander supposed to be wary of Callum? Why would he suddenly agree to let her talk to Callum alone? Without waiting for Thalassa to respond, Lysander wheeled himself towards the car, telling Atticus, "Con, Atticus." Hastily, Atticus followed, helping the bodyguard load Lysander into the vehicle before climbing in himself. As he shut the car door, he gave Thalassa an encouraging look.
With her son's support, Thalassa felt a wave of calm. She turned back to Callum, "Let's talk over there by the fountain." They headed towards a grand column near the hotel's side, where few people wandered, and the column itself offered privacy from prying eyes. Choosing this spot for their conversation was perfect since its openness meant avoiding the awkwardness of being alone in an enclosed space.
Following her, Callum caught a glimpse of Thalassa's icy demeanor, his heart wrestling with itself before he finally spoke up, "Thalassa, did you overhear my conversation with Susan at the police station th QUMS day?" Thalassa let out a scornful laugh, "I did. Had I not accidentally heard your chat with Susan, I would've never known that it was you who secretly sabotaged my mother three years ago, pinning it on Lysander." She had been under the mistaken belief that Lysander was indirectly responsible for her mother's death.
Because of this misunderstanding, she had kept her distance from Lysander, refusing to admit she had fallen for him long ago.

Callum's expression turned painful
as he earnestly said to Thalassa, "Thalassa was too in love with you back then, trying to get you away from Lysander and I chose the wrong way to do it. I've been trying to make amends..."
"Make amends? How can you possibly do that?" Thalassa mocked, her mother would never comeback, how could he ev ever make up for that kind of hurt? "Thalassa, you haven't told Lysander about this, have you?" Callum suddenly asked. He had been observing Lysander
and Thalassa's reactions closely.
Thalassa was extremely cold om towards him, while Kysander seemed to maintain his usual. demeanor - indifferent but cautious, lacking the anger Thalassa showed. X
