Ethan was just on his way to fetch swater when he opened the front door.
"Whoa, Ethan, what are you doing here?" Angelina, standing at the door with a little boy in her arms and Georgia trailing behind her, sounded genuinely surprised.
Ethan, taken aback, glanced over at her. "What brings you here?" he managed a strained smile, exchanging pleasantries.
Before he could step aside, Angelina, holding the child, walked in. "We cto check on Alaric. What happened to your eye? Did you get into a fight?" As Angelina entered, she made a show of concern for Ethan.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEthan had no choice but to move aside, making room for them. Georgia, following behind Angelina, had a smirk plastered on her face, eyeing Ethan like he was the latest gossip. "Mr. Ethan, that bruised look suits you quite well." Ethan was speechless.
Georgia really had a way with words.
No wonder Alaric wasn't her biggest fan.
Angelina at least pretended to care, while Georgia just laughed at him.
What did his bruise have to do with her? Ethan chuckled lightly, saying, "Life's a journey with its share of bumps. Only those spoiled by luxury, living in a bubble of adoration, manage to stay pristine." With that, Ethan defended his dignity while taking a jab at Georgia.
But Georgia seemed unfazed, even taking it as a compliment.
"Of course, my parents dote on me. Whatever I want, they make sure I get it," boasted Georgia proudly.
"My parents also go all out for the people I love," she added, glancing smugly at Angelina, her arrogance palpable.
Her remark was clearly meant for Angelina, letting her know that if Alaric wanted to be CEO, only the Reed family could make it happen.
Ethan wanted to laugh; he finally understood the ordeal Alaric had been through these past three years, probably being overshadowed by Georgia at every turn, unable to stand tall.

However, Angelina seemed to eat up Georgia's words, saying, "Exactly Georgia is the perfect match for our Alaric Speaking of which, where is Alaric? We've been here for awhile and haven't seen him." Saying so, Angelina, still holding the child, looked around for Alaric.
Her gaze landed on Alaric's room, noticing the light was on. She headed there with the child, calling Alaric, are you still sleeping?" Georgia hurried after her.
Knowing he couldn't stop them, Ethan didn't interfere and headed to the kitchen to get Alaric swater. He didn't want Alaric dying of thirst, after all.
Suddenly, a scream echoed from the room, followed by an indignant m Kan accusation, "What have you done to my son, you woman?" X
