Chapter 802

Leopold’s last shred of hope came crashing down, and the tears he had been suppressing surged from his reddened eyes. He withdrew his hand from Amelia’s comforting grasp, pulling the blanket over his entire body, covering his tears, and concealing all his failures.

He didn’t want anyone in the room to see his tears.

“Leopold, your hand…” Amelia said, concern thick in her voice.

“I’m fine, it’s stopped bleeding,” Leopold replied, his voice muffled from under the blanket. Struggling to control his sobs, he tried to keep his voice steady.

“Are you sure it’s stopped bleeding? Let me see.” Despite his reassurances, Amelia was still worried. She gently pulled his hand from under the blanket, and seeing that the bleeding had indeed stopped, she let out a sigh of relief.

“Your father and grandfather will be here this afternoon. They heard about your injury and hopped on the first flight. Don’t worry. Even if you don’t want to start your own business, they can still offer you a position in their company. You don’t need to get anything from Lysander.”

Amelia thought that what Leopold wanted from Lysander was a position in the Sinclair Group, or perhaps some shares.

Ever since Lysander took over the Sinclair Group, it had thrived under his management, becoming a multinational corporation. Leopold’s father and grandfather had both been transferred to overseas positions as CEOs of the company.

Leopold could certainly acquire a position abroad if he wasn’t able to secure one domestically!

Amelia hated seeing her son struggle and face so many setbacks.

Hidden under the blanket, Leopold’s breathing trembled. His tears fell heavily, and he bit his lip, trying desperately to control his emotions.

Only Lysander knew what he truly wanted.

All he wanted was Thalassa.

He didn’t care about anything else, and he was willing to give everything up for her. He was prepared to work with his own hands, to provide for her, and to give her a warm home.

But even this simple wish seemed impossible to fulfill.

Lysander walked out of the hospital room. Just as he reached the elevator, Zephyr called out to him. “Lysander!”

Lysander turned to see Zephyr holding three gift boxes.

Zephyr handed the boxes to him. “These are from Thalassa. Take them, and tell her not to see Leopold anymore. She’s the mother of your children, you should understand.”

Lysander glanced at the boxes, then at David. David took the hint and accepted the boxes from Zephyr, nodding in respect.

Lysander left with David, leaving his bodyguard behind for Leopold.

Thalassa returned to her office, sitting in front of her computer to get some work done.

She found it difficult to concentrate. She spent the afternoon writing, deleting, and rewriting. She sighed and turned to see Ethan standing behind her.

“Mr. Ethan, when did you get here? You’re so quiet that I didn’t even hear you come in.”

“I’ve been standing here for about ten minutes, watching you type, delete, and retype. If you’re not in the mood to work, you should probably take a break,” Ethan advised.

“I’m not…” Thalassa protested weakly.

“Alright, alright. I know it’s been a tough time for you. Take a couple of days off and get some rest,” Ethan suggested before leaving the office.

What should she do with a couple of days off? Visit her mother, or spend time with her children at the Royal Estates?

It was Wednesday tomorrow, a school day, so she couldn’t spend time with her children even if she went to the Royal Estates.

She decided to visit her mother, whom she hadn’t seen in a while.

Thalassa packed up her things and left the Crawley Group.

As she exited the building, she saw the familiar Rolls-Royce parked in the sunset. The rays of the setting sun glinted off the luxurious car, casting a radiant glow.

It bore an invisible but intense sense of intimidation.

Thalassa, who had just managed to relax a bit, instantly felt her heart tighten.
