Chapter 829

He didn’t expose her; instead, he motioned towards the path ahead, saying, “Let’s go, the library is open now.”

Thalassa pondered for a moment. Since she was here, why not take a tour of her old haunt? It had been years

since she last visited her alma mater.

Back in the day, the library was indeed her favorite hangout. She wondered if it had changed much.

So, Leopold and Thalassa walked in tandem and headed towards the library.

Upon arrival, they were stopped by a security guard, “You’re not students here, are you? The rules state that only

current students are allowed in the library.”

Thalassa, disappointed, looked at Leopold and ready to say, ‘See, we’re just common folk now, not suited for a

school library.”

But before she could utter a word, Leopold turned to the security guard and said, “Who said we’re not students?

We’re still enrolled as grad students.”

The security guard looked them up and down in disbelief. No matter how he looked at it, they did not seem like

students. While they did look young, their attire was far too mature.

Who else but working professionals would dress in suits?

And it wasn’t just the man in the suit, but the woman too was in business attire.

Thalassa, feeling awkward under the security guard’s scrutiny, was about to turn around and leave when Leopold

grabbed her hand.

The warmth of his palm against Thalassa’s skin caught her off guard. Before she could react, Leopold let go of her

hand.

He pulled out two blue booklets from his pocket, opened them and handed them to the security guard, “Take a look.

These are our student IDs. Do they look fake to you?”

The security guard scrutinized the IDs. Seeing they were indeed genuine, he allowed them to pass.

Thalassa was curious, but she didn’t voice her questions yet. It wasn’t until they were inside the library that she

asked Leopold in a hushed voice, “Where did you get these student IDs? They can’t be fake, can they?”

“Who said they’re fake? Look at the embossed seal. It’s the school’s stamp. Which one of these is fake?” Leopold

held up the IDs before Thalassa, pointing out the embossed seal and the school’s stamp.

Thalassa looked closely. They were genuine ones indeed.

Her curiosity deepened, “They are really genuine ones. How did you manage this?”

Seeing her innocent curiosity, Leopold felt a surge of affection. She was just like she used to be – naive, kind, and

adorably clueless.

Unfortunately, he had lost her due to his own foolish actions.

“I still remember our classmate, Fred, right? We were roommates, and we still have a good relationship. He’s now

quite an influential figure in the school. Getting a couple of student IDs from him was easy,” Leopold explained with

a grin.

“How did you convince him to misuse his power?” Thalassa was surprised.

“Easy, I was honest with him. Before I even asked, he agreed to help as soon as he heard you’d be coming, Leopold

said as his eyes were sparkling in the sunlight.

It was only in Thalassa’s presence that he was truly happy.

Thalassa was intrigued at first, but a shadow crossed her eyes as she heard the words.

Fred had often helped Leopold in his pursuit of her, always rooting for them to get together.

However, times had changed and she didn’t want to give Leopold any false hopes.

“So, you bringing me to Starhaven College wasn’t a spur of the moment thing, but a premeditated plan,” she said,

realizing he had procured the student

IDs beforehand.

“There’s no need, really. I’ve long outgrown my affinity for libraries. As for the school library, I don’t really have any

particular fondness for it. I’m not a graduate of Starhaven College, I left this place empty-handed, after all. The

most important thing in my world now are my four kids. They’re my real treasure, Thalassa said with a polite smile

playing on her lips.
