Chapter 831

How on earth did Thalassa end up with Leopold? Ethan thought:

Back at her desk, Thalassa booted up her laptop to record her findings from her inspection at Leossa Electronics

earlier in the day.

In the wake of an unfortunate incident, the Sinclair group had undertaken a thorough restructuring of Leossa

Electronics employees. The lax and distracted were dismissed, while the remaining staff found themselves under

the yoke of a new reward and punishment system, leaving no room for negligence.

She was engrossed in her work when Ethan suddenly appeared in her office. “Ms. Everhart, did your visit to Leossa

Tech yield any unexpected results today?” he asked.

Turning towards Ethan, Thalassa replied, “No unexpected results, but I did come across a few things. I’m compiling

them into a report and I’ll send it to your inbox once I’m done.”

“Oh, really now? So the gentleman escorted you back wasn’t an unexpected result?” Ethan raised his eyebrows and

took a sip from his coffee mug.

Caught off guard, Thalassa’s fingers froze over the keyboard. Reading Ethan’s half-teasing, half-serious demeanor,

she retorted, “What are you implying, Mr. Ethan? There’s absolutely nothing going on between Leopold and me.”

“Well, there’s no need to get defensive. I was just asking. Go on with your work, I’ll leave you to it.” With that, Ethan

turned around and returned to his own office.

After reviewing some files for a while, Ethan felt it necessary to share this with Lysander.

After all, Lysander and him were best buddies.

Pulling out his phone, Ethan sent a message to Lysander: [Guess what I saw today? Don’t ignore this, it’s about

Thalassa:]

Sure enough, Lysander’s response came in a short, curt word: [Spill!]

Ethan smirked at Lysander’s assertiveness, which was so evident even in a single word.

Deciding not to prolong the suspense, Ethan texted Lysander: [Thalassa was at Leossa Electronics for an inspectión

today. It turned out that Leopold sent her back.]

After sending the message, Ethan was met with silence from the other end. After waiting for a while without any

response, Ethan, his curiosity faded, put his phone aside and resumed his work.

Lysander didn’t reply to the message, nor did he snap. That was something unexpected for Ethan.

Meanwhile, after dropping off Thalassa at her office, Leopold had headed straight for his own workspace instead of

going home.

Ever since he sold Leossa Tech to the Sinclair group, he had established new workshop and was dedicated to selling

mobile phones.

Upon his arrival, he discovered a scene of chaos with chairs and tables overturned, and his employees entangled in

a physical altercation with several burly men and two middle-aged women.

“Call Leopold here! He’s responsible for our husbands’ deaths and thinks a million dollars will cover it? We want the

truth! We want justice!” One woman was crying out in rage.

“Regardless of the truth, he’s the one who employed our husbands directly. They lost their lives working for him and

he thinks he can just hide away? We want answers and additional compensation!” The other woman was pushing

an employee while shouting.

The rest of the burly men, likely relatives of the two women, were aggressively pushing the employees around.

Leopold walked into this chaos and was immediately spotted by one of the women. She rushed towards him and

shouted in a furious manner, “Leopold, you owe me my husband’s life! You think a million dollars can settle

everything? Do we look like beggars to you? Unless you give us a billion, we won’t let this go!”

Caught off guard and unsteady, Leopold staggered backwards, almost crashing into the door frame, only to be

saved by a quick-reacting employee.

“Mr. Sinclair, are you alright?” the employee asked.

With a pale and cold face, Leopold shook his head, “I’m fine.”

“Of course you’re fine! Our husbands are the ones who are dead. Hand over a billion and we can settle this

privately. Otherwise, see you in court!” the woman stared at him, full of fury.
