“Do you think the Gardner family had no intention of marrying into ours from the beginning?”
Arthur glanced at Veronica, “If they didn’t want the alliance, they could have just said so directly.
There’s no need to go through all this trouble.”
Veronica became even more puzzled, “Then why did Alice praise Marion so much?”
