Chapter 243 It felt as if a bomb had exploded in Leopold's brain. His heart was like a stormy sea, raging with emotions.
“Do you love him that much?” His voice trembled with shock.
Aurelia’s expression was cold and calm, “Arno and | never truly dated, we cannot talk about love. Even though our marriage is a contract, | have my morals. | will not betray you or date someone else behind your back. Arno and | are still good friends. Only after our divorce, when | am single again, will | consider dating him.” She wasn’t sure what it felt like to be truly in love. But one thing she knew for sure: she wouldn't waste her emotions on the wrong person. That would be self-inflicted pain.
Leopold let out a heavy sigh as if he had just survived a cataclysmic disaster.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe straightened up and walked back to his desk, picking up his coffee mug and downing the last remnants of his black coffee, trying to calm down.
He didn’t understand why he felt so anxious and scared at that moment, fearing that she might fall for Arnold.
But he was sure it had nothing to do with feelings, because he couldn't possibly like this cunning woman. It must be possessiveness, after all, they were legally bound.
“I will show you that Arnold is not your perfect match.” She scoffed, “Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches. | thought Elowen was a better fit for you than Evelyn, but you still divorced Elowen to marry Evelyn, didn’t you?” Leopold's eyes narrowed and asked, “Are you still defending Elowen?” “Even though you never married Elowen, in my eyes, she is the rightful one, and Evelyn is the mistress.” Aurelia pouted, resentment rising in her mind whenever she thought of him breaking his promise to have children with Evelyn.
Once Evelyn had her child, wouldn't she see Aurelia’s children as a thom in her side, a constant annoyance? Leopold was speechless, seriously doubting her sanity, “Then what are you?” Aurelia didn’t know what she was either, perhaps just a carrier for his babies.
“No matter what | am, Evelyn is definitely a mistress. That's a fact. You are just a cheater.” The words slipped out before she could stop them.
Leopold felt misunderstood and wronged. He had always been virtuous, even giving his first kiss to this woman, and she was calling him a cheater.
Rushing to the fridge, he grabbed a cold bottle of mineral water, unscrewed the cap, and gulped down a mouthful, trying to cool his temper.
He didn’t want to explain. There was no need to justify himself to this insignificant fool. He didn’t care about her.
But he felt unbearably upset, extremely uncomfortable, and annoyed.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe took another sip of water, reining in his unwanted emotions, and replaced them with a mocking look, “Evelyn has her charms, unlike you, who only has shortcomings.” Aurelia felt as if she had been dealt a heavy blow and it was painful.
It was because of love.
Even if Evelyn was heinous, she was the sweet and innocent girl in his eyes.
“I know you don't like me, and | never want you will love me. | just hope that after the divorce, we can live our lives respectively.” Leopold was unhappy.
He didn’t know why, but he hated the word “divorce”. Yet this woman kept repeating it.
His brows furrowed, his eyes blazing with fury. He put down the water bottle and stormed over like a tornado, roughly pressing her head against the back of the couch and kissing her fiercely.
He wanted to stop her annoying words, and he wanted to punish her.
