thrilled. I thought you were so in love with your husband that I wouldn’t stand a chance. But now that I
know it’s all a fabrication, I see a window of opportunity to pursue you.”
Dorothy pressed her lips together and spoke in a stern tone, “I won’t accept anyone’s pursuit, Lane. I’m
telling you this straight so that you won’t waste your time on me.”
