Secondly, her younger sister had experienced a heartbreak.

Lysander didn't really have a solution for this. She also wasn't particularly good at giving advice, and it seemed as though no amount of counsel would help with heartbreak. However, doing nothing wasn't an option as she only had one sister.

So, when Michelle pleaded with her to go for a drink, Lysander thought for a moment and agreed.

At her age, she was the spitting image of Daphne from the past. Back then, Daphne had been so distraught that she almost broke down mentally, to the point of considering suicide. Michelle, however, merely sought solace in alcohol to temporarily numb herself. At least her life wasn't in any danger.

Lysander chose a fairly respectable bar, requesting the most secluded booth. She let her younger sister sit inside, shielding her from view while she sat on the outside. This was to prevent any unwelcguests from spotting the intoxicated young lady and getting any improper ideas.

Michelle already had too much to drink, while her face was wet with tears. Hiccupping, she sprawled herself on the table. "Lysander, when you divorced Josiah, was it painful?" Lysander said, "It's okay, I guess." Michelle's lips quivered, tears starting to flow again. "Why am I even asking you? You're like skind of superhuman, unaffected by trivial matters such as love and affection." "Mm-hmm." "But Lysander, I'm devastated," Michelle sat up straight, taking another gulp of her cold beer. "I argued with Mom and Dad for him. I even planned to move to the capital for him, but this is how he treats me." The night before, Michelle was all alone, squatting in the small garden downstairs as she called her sister. As soon as Lysander cdown, she was embraced by Michelle who then burst into tears.

At that time, she couldn't probe further. Her priority was to soothe her sister's emotions.

Fortunately, Michelle still had a bit of sense left in her. By the tthe two returned home, she had managed to stifle her sobs, moving quietly and gently so as not to wake her parents.

She had pleaded with Lysander early in the morning to bring her out for a drink. She managed to hold herself together during the journey, but once they arrived and she had a few sips of alcohol, she completely lost control and broke down in tears, sobbing so hard that she could hardly catch his breath.

"What did he say to you yesterday?" Michelle bit her lip and cursed, "The b*stard was forcingto choose between my parents and my love. If I chose my family, he would break up with me.” Lysander listened, her brow furrowed in concern. "Did he really say that?" Chapter 189 Mourning My Lost Love "Mmm-hmm." Michelle nodded in a daze.

"And what if you had chosen love?" Michelle suddenly let out a snigger. "He said that if I chose him, he would tell his parents, reject the arranged marriage, and then elope withto the capital. Does he think I'm a fool? This choice costs him nothing, as we'd still be following the original plan of studying together in the capital. As for eloping, his family would still be paying his tuition. What kind of clopement is that?" Lysander couldn't help but chuckle. "Don't you think cloping is pretty cool?" Michelle gave her an incredulous look. "Lysander, are you even my sister?" "What do you think?" Michelle firmly shook her head. “My sister is both smart and rational. She wouldn't ask such a foolish question." "Did it not occur to you that I was thinking from your perspective, believing that you would consider eloping as something really cool?" Michelle smirked. "Lysander, am I an idiot to you?"

"Of course not!" Lysander casually took the beer bottle from her sister's hand without a hint of emotion, M placing far beyond the latter's reach. "Since you've already figured out his intentions, why are you still so upset?" Michelle shook her head. "You wouldn't understand. I'm mourning my lost love." Lysander found this phrase to be truly bitter.

"Lysander, I think I'm beginning to understand you now. As long as we can harden our hearts like breakup wouldn't feel painful. Just like when you divorced your husband, you carried on as if nothing happened, living your life as usual. Lysander, I really admire you," e steel, even a

Lysander didn't comment on the remark. "Actually, I've been pondering on whether youth is meant to be lived with such intensity, full of heart-wrenching moments, and if someone like me, who's indifferent to it all, will end up regretting not having fully enjoyed that period of life." "Please, don't ever have any regrets. You're perfectly fine the way you are. You have no idea how unbearable a breakup is. Even though I was the one who initiated it, and I've seen his true colors, it still hurts terribly.... Ugh X
