The knocking on the door woke up Corinne. She frowned and groggily answered, “Yes?”
“Ma’am, a middle-aged couple and their daughter who looked to be your age had come to visit you. They said

she calmly said, “Bowen, let them in and ask them to wait in the living room for me. I’ll be down as soon as I’ve

Sherlyn grew impatient to the extent she started cursing Corinne. To her, she should have been the rightful Missus
Holden, so how dare Bowen let her wait outside for so long?!

The two servants were stunned and confused at the same time. All the while, they behaved respectfully toward the
Carews because Bowen specially instructed them to do so, saying that the Carews were Corinne’s family. He told
them that they should treat them with nothing less than the utmost respect.
