Yvonne was a little embarrassed as she said, "My father was sick earlier. He worried about us going hungry when

our family ran out of money, so he asked my mother to buy some food in advance and store it at home.

Yvonne's mother had prepared dinner in an hour or so. It was indeed dumplings made with the vegetable called

Sashakee.

Yvonne's flour was probably made from wheat in the slum's mill, so it was rough. Therefore, the skin was not

tender enough, and the dish called Sashakee tasted mediocre even when cooked. However, neither Sean nor

Zander would complain.

When the two of them were at war, they often encountered food shortages because of the war. In that

circumstance, they had eaten everything-bark, roots, even earthworms dug out of the ground. Mice were a luxury.

Compared with those things, the bowl of Sashakee dumplings they held in their hand was already very nice.

As he ate, Sean said, "Bob, how's your injury? You should pretty much be recovered by now."

It had been nearly a week since Sean performed Bob's surgery.
