Chapter 1033 A Trick Up The Sleeve

“Jared, it’s futile. Just go…” Josephine felt heartbroken at the sight of Jared and joined in the persuasion.

“I want to get you out…”

Nonetheless, Jared was stubborn and refused to heed their advice. Gritting his teeth, Jared was about to

release his entire spiritual energy.

At that juncture, footsteps rang outside the cells. Knowing that someone was approaching, Skylar hastily

pulled Jared and said, “Let’s go. Someone is coming…”

Skylar quickly pulled Jared into the pitch-black entrance and vanished. It was as if they were never

present here.

Right after Skylar and Jared left, Zion came in with his subordinates. After looking around the place, Zion

frowned and asked the two guards, “Did anyone came?”

“President Zeigler, there was no visitor at all!” one of the guards answered.

After giving it some thought, Zion instructed them, “Keep a close eye on the cells. No one can enter this

place without my permission.”

“Understood!”

The two guards bowed.

Then, Zion took a casual glance at Josephine before leaving the place.

“Are you out of your mind?” Meanwhile, in the alley next to the Warriors Alliance’s building, Skylar glared

at Jared and scolded him.

They would have been discovered if Skylar didn’t manage to drag Jared out of the dungeon.

Since Skylar and Jared weren’t strong enough, the Warriors Alliance could defeat them in a heartbeat.

Ignoring Skylar, Jared kept staring at the wall without saying a word. A cold glint visibly flashed across

Jared’s eyes.

Knowing that Jared was disgruntled, Skylar said calmly, “Don’t forget what you’ve promised me to do

tomorrow!”

With that, Skylar turned around and left.

Jared stayed still for more than half an hour before leaving the alley reluctantly.

When Theodore saw that Jared had returned to the Department of Justice, he hastily came up to Jared

and asked, “Mr. Chance, did you see Ms. Sullivan?”

Jared nodded in response. However, Theodore could tell that Jared wasn’t in a good mood. Jared felt

himself being useless, for he couldn’t do anything to rescue his girlfriend, who was locked away in the

dungeon of the Warriors Alliance.

Just then, Lizbeth came out of Jared’s room. Once Lizabeth saw him, she asked, “Jared, did you see

Josephine? Is she all right?”

Jared was stunned for a while before turning his gaze to Theodore.

Theodore said in embarrassment, “I told Ms. Grange about it.”

All the while, Jared didn’t tell Lizbeth about it so that she wouldn’t be worried. Now that Lizbeth had

known it, Jared didn’t intend to hide it from her anymore. He nodded and replied, “Yes, I saw Josephine.

She’s all right!”

“Just as we thought, the Warriors Alliance seized Josephine! How wicked of them!” Lizbeth exclaimed

furiously.

“I’ll make sure that they pay for it one day!”

Anger filled Jared’s eyes as he gritted his teeth. His hatred against the Warriors Alliance was so deep

that he would risk his life to take revenge against it.

“Jared, I’ve heard from General Jackson that you’re going to Dragon Island. I’m going with you. After all,

I can grab the chance to visit Renee,” Lizbeth said.

“No way. Please stay in the Department of Justice. I’ll be back in a few days,” Jared declined Lizbeth’s

request without hesitation.

Since Jared wasn’t sure what the tricks were up Skylar’s sleeve, it would be dangerous if Lizbeth went

with him.

Before Lizbeth could argue with him, Jared waved his hand and said, “I’m tired and have to get some

rest.”

Jared’s heart broke after visiting Josephine. After all, Josephine was imprisoned, yet Jared couldn’t find a

way to rescue her.

When Lizbeth wanted to chase after Jared, Theodore stopped her and advised, “Ms. Grange, please

give Mr. Chance some time to calm down. I guess he must be crestfallen now.”

Lizbeth stopped walking and watched till Jared entered his room and closed the door.

Lizbeth and Theodore exchanged glances before they left. No one had disturbed Jared since then.
