Chapter 2119 How Are You?
When she entered her own world, she would filter out any sounds from outside.
She continued working on the designs by making changes here and there. When it was almost time to get off work,
Mary paid her a visit.
Cindy was a little lightheaded, and she looked up at Mary for a long while before finally reacting. "What's wrong?
Did something come up?"
Mary was smiling, but then again, she always had a grin whenever she talked to Cindy. "Yes, something did come
up. Mr. Kaufmann is asking for you."
"Mr. Kaufmann?"
Cindy was stunned. She got up dazedly and left the office.
As she stood in the elevator with Mary, she contemplated for a while and decided to ask anyway, "Did Mr.
Kaufmann say what the matter was? Is he alone in his office?"

take you upstairs. You can ask Mr. Kaufmann when you go in to see him."
Cindy pursed her lips and fell silent.
To be frank, Mr. Kaufmann didn't have a reason to see her since she was just a mere employee.
She spent her days in the office writing and sketching, and she was never involved in any important work.
At that moment, Cindy sighed quietly as she thought about Gary. If the latter were upstairs too, she wondered how
he would react when he saw her. After all, she knew things might get awkward.
When the elevator arrived at their destination, Mary didn't lead Cindy to the entrance of Mr. Kaufmann's office.
Instead, she simply stood at the elevator doors and watched as Cindy made her way there.
Cindy had been here once before, so she navigated the familiar floor and went up to knock on the door that would
lead to Mr. Kaufmann's office.
Mr. Kaufmann was sitting on a chair inside while looking at his phone. He turned to look at Cindy and gestured for
her to come in.
With that, the woman walked over and took a seat in front of Mr. Kaufmann. "Did you ask for me, Mr. Kaufmann?"
Just like before, Mr. Kaufmann's attitude was quite gentle. "Oh, it's nothing much. How are you getting by in the
company? Is work going smoothly for you?"
Cindy nodded. "Yes, I'm used to it now."
Mr. Kaufmann seemed to be satisfied with the answer, and he proceeded to mention Gary. He said that Gary had
visited him today to talk about the investment project.
Cindy feigned ignorance. "Oh, was Mr. Frye here earlier today?"
Mr. Kaufmann nodded and said, "He also asked about you. In fact, he wanted to know if work was going well for
you. I don't come here often, and I haven't really checked on you these days. That's why I'm wondering how you've
been recently."
Cindy replied hastily, "Everything's fine on my side, and I have no problems at all."
Mr. Kaufmann probably knew she was going to respond like that, so he indicated for her to have some tea. Then,
the two chatted about minor things at work.

so nice to anyone before.
When Cindy heard that, she was even more troubled. To be honest, she was very thankful to Gary for helping her
land this job, but she hoped that she could establish a clear boundary between Gary and herself at work.
She didn't want to depend on Gary to help her through any problems in the future; instead, she wanted to rely on
herself when it came to work-related matters.
Cindy returned to the office and sat down. Naturally, the others looked at her in secret.
This time, they merely looked at her without saying anything. After all, her colleagues couldn't get a good grasp of
Cindy's identity and background.
Mr. Kaufmann would call her up and chat with Cindy for no reason, whereas Julia had been fired for going up
against her in public. As such, everyone thought that she wasn't as pure and innocent as she seemed.
