Zach had always been a backstabber. Based on her understanding of him, Madelyn knew he was furious. She knew she would be shredded into pieces if she ever ended up in his clutches.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZach never wanted her to get close to Ethan. This was because he was cautious of the Amold family's power. However, his goal was to obtain the Jent family, and Madelyn was okay with that. She just wanted a peaceful life and did not want to be roped into his. This time, all of this would have nothing to do with her.
Madelyn gave him a forced smile and said, "Okay." George still arranged for a chauffeur for everyone and sent them all to the Southern Haven Villas. Madelyn accompanied them to the gates of the main residence. She would not have known Ethan had secretly prepared so many gifts for them had she not seen it with her own eyes. This included expensive jewelry, tea leaves, and supplements, all packed into one car. Ultimately, they came with two cars and left with three.
This was enough to show how much Ethan valued them. Madelyn knew she had yet to fall in love with Ethan, but did she have a choice? He gave her the respect she deserved, which was enough for Madelyn. He was a great person and suitable for her as her future partner. She just hoped nothing unexpected would happen. She merely wished for peace in this life.
Madelyn brought the hangover cure to Ethan and fed it to him. Then, she left the room to rest. When they left, Zach sent Madelyn an email. Madelyn did not read it; instead, she deleted it.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmZach was walking so fast at the Grand Court that Jadie could not keep up. She pleaded with him, "Zach, wait for me." Once they entered the door, Jadie blocked Zach's path and said, "Zach, you've been ignoring me throughout our trip back here." She stood before him, scared and panicked. She continued, "Why are you angry, Zach? Do you not wish for Madelyn to be engaged? Have you taken a liking to her?" Since he left the Arnold family's residence, he had been distracted while driving home. He almost crashed into someone when running a red light, yet he did not care.
Zach's piercing gaze stared at her. Jadie was unfamiliar with this version of him.
"Stop it and go back to your room to rest. | still have company affairs to attend to," Zach said.
He then walked past her and left. Jadie did not want to see him brush her off so easily, so she screamed, "You're still lying to me right now!" Her voice was raised a few decibels.
"We've been together for so long, yet you've never treated me like your woman at all," Jadie said.
