Around 9:30 that evening, Zach relaxed on the couch in the living room, eager to hear Jordan's news about Madelyn.
Jordan started, "Here's the scoop. Ms. Jent chatted with that girl briefly before stepping out of the car. But when she came back, her demeanor had changed.” Zach looked at Margaret with a serious face. "What about you? What do you think?" Margaret laughed lightly. "Mr. Jardin, you might be overanalyzing. In two days, it's the birthday bash for a friend of Ms. Jent. The painting? She made it as a gift." Zach asked, "Is the friend's last name Harper?" Margaret just shrugged. "Maybe, but I'm not certain.” Zach stood up from the couch. "Got it," he said and headed upstairs.
In the study of his master bedroom, he paused by the large windows, gazing at the sky filled with stars. Picking up the phone, he dialed a number.
Kevin answered instantly, "Mr. Jardin." Zach said, "Look into it. Around noon today, find out who left the company to meet Madelyn." In a well-lit office at Jardin Corporation, Kevin cast a sidelong glance at a jittery woman tucked away in a corner. Redirecting his attention, he responded calmly, "That's Blake Dion from the secretary's office.” Zach asked, "She?" He did not recognize her. Typically, only a few top leaders, including Kevin, interacted directly with Zach.
"Mr. Jardin, please hold on," Kevin said, passing the phone to Blake. "Do you want to explain, or should 1?" Caught off guard, Blake replied, "Speaking to Mr. Jardin? | mean, I'm just an intern. I'm really nervous." Kevin's expression grew stern. Taking a step outside with the phone, he clarified the situation to Zach. Once Zach understood, his worries seemed to vanish.
‘Did she paint that just as a gift?" Zach said, "Kevin, handle this yourself." Kevin replied, "Yes, sir." Three days later, newspapers reported that Mya would be getting engaged at her birthday party today. The man she is getting engaged to remains unknown. The party is at the Supreme World banquet hall.
Luke Graham was with Mya, who had long wavy hair and wore a white fox fur shawl. He warned her, "If you don't want anything to happen to the Harper family, stay calm today. If not, a single word from me can ruin them in Ventropolis.” Mya snapped, "You're nothing but a liar!" Suddenly, Luke slapped Mya. A vivid handprint appeared on her reddened cheek. "It was you who begged to marry me, wasn't it? Be careful with what you say to the media," Luke warned. "If not, | can't guarantee your father will be safe in the hospital.” Angry, Mya said, "When Madelyn comes, she won't forgive you."
