Chapter 503

"Wait until | get discharged and go home." Theo kissed my forehead.

| pursed my lips and raised my head, saying, "Let's not wait till then. Let's do it now."

| did not expect myself to be so passionate one day. Perhaps | was moved by the fact that he stabbed himself

with a knife and that gavea great sense of security.

Theo thought | was joking and simply laughed, not takingseriously.

| kissed his lips with a frown, then moved to his neck.

Theo sighed helplessly. "Do you feel bad about it?"

| nodded. "Don’t do hurtful things like that to yourself anymore, Theo. I'm not worth it."

Everyone deserved to be punished for the sins they committed. | should be paying the price for my actions, not

someone else.

Why should someone else have to bear the cost of the mistake | made?

"It doesn't matter whether it's worth it or not."

Theo stroked my head and spoke with a tender tone.

"I only know that you're my wife and I’m your husband. I'm the family's pillar of strength and an umbrella. |

should be protecting you. I'll also pay for all your actions."

Tears welled up in my eyes and | had a strong urge to cry.

Theo then consoledfor a while more before he fell asleep.

| disliked the hospital, so | did not manage to sleep well and woke up a few times at night.

| would wake up with a start from a bad dream. | would dream of Theo lying on the ground covered in blood,

givinghis last words. It was just like Matthew before he died.

After | woke with a start, | had a strong urge to cry but | held back my tears.

Theo knew | was having nightmares and would comfortevery t| woke up.

"Theo, no matter what happens in the future, promise t o put your own safety first, okay?”

"lI will.” Theo patted my back. "lI won't let you worry again."

| closed my eyes and buried my face in his arms. "If you want to die, then you have to wait forto die first."

| did not want to see anyone important todying in front ofagain. The bone-piercing pain was too much

forto bear.

"Did you dream that | died?" Theo guessed.

| cried as soon as he asked that. My emotions burst out like a broken tap.

Theo sighed softly. "Silly, I'm fine. Can't you see?"

I sniffed. "I'm terrified."

Theo heldtight. "Don’t worry, I'll stay by your side forever and won't leave you alone. Never."

| nodded gently. "You must keep your promise."

"1 will."

As | did not sleep well in the hospital, Theo insisted o n getting discharged the second day. | could not win the

argument in the end and submitted to my fate. We went htogether.

We bumped into Quinn at the front door of the house. She was directing the driver to move the luggage.

It seemed that the police had stopped investigating her and she was free to move around now.

| walked up to her and said, "Thank you."
