Chapter 584
"Mommy, let US stay. Claudia will be upset if she wakes up without seeing us." Ben was afraid that his mother would
ask him to leave. Ben's dark eyes were covered with a layer of mist as if he would cry if Molly refused his request.
Molly understood how close these three children were to each other, so she could not bear to ask them to sleep in
another room. She got up to help tuck the quilt on the bed and whispered to the two stubborn children, "You two
can stay. But, you can't stay up all night. Come lie down next to your sister and go to sleep, staying up late will make
you sick, and if Claudia gets well tomorrow, she won't be happy to see you two sick."
After Molly said that, Alex and Ben gave in and obediently lay down next to Claudia. Their idea was that they had to

strength to take care of their sister tomorrow. Everyone was exhausted today. The two children took their mother's
words to heart and fell asleep within minutes of lying next to Claudia.
Watching them all fall asleep, Molly only then turned around and spoke to Sean, who was keeping watch there. "You
should also go back to rest early. Your leg injury doesn't need frequent treatment, but you still need to rest."
Sean shook his head. "I will be careful with it. But, just for the day, let me watch the kids with you." Sean did not
move as though he was silently telling Molly that he was definitely not going back tonight. Knowing that she could
not talk him out of it, Molly had to let him stay.
In the wee hours, Claudia's temperature had gradually subsided, and Molly was just ready to breathe a sigh of
relief. But, the fever was most likely to recur, and when it did, Molly was so worried that she almost forgot what she
had to do several times.
Thanks to Sean calming her down and helping her pass things around, Molly rushed to fetch a pot of warm water
and wet a towel to wipe Claudia's body, as it might help her body to cool down. The little girl was in a trance, as the
uncomfortable feeling of being sick caused her to toss and turn in bed. Before long, she woke up, saw her mother,
and could not hold back her tears.
"Mommy, I feel terrible. It hurts so much." The little girl sobbed quietly, as she was afraid of making her mother feel
more worried. It killed Molly to see Claudia trying hard to fight back her tears.
How she wished she was the person who fell ill instead of her daughter.
"It’s alright. Mommy is here. Mommy will help Claudia get rid of the pain, okay?" Molly took Claudia into her arms
and coaxed her patiently and gently. But, Molly knew how terrible it felt to have a fever. Claudia did not want her to

"Let me hold her. You should rest for a while." Sean saw Molly holding Claudia for a long time and helped to coax
Claudia. Molly did not try to be strong, and she carefully transferred Claudia into Sean's arms before taking out the
water that had cooled and replacing it with a warm one.
"It's alright, Claudia, when you get well, I will tell you a story of the little princess, because you're a little princess."
Sean leaned over and sat on the edge of the bed, placing Claudia on his lap and letting her lean against him. The
huge palm of his hand gently stroked the little girl, and he occasionally patted her a few times to soothe her. His
tone was unprecedentedly gentle and patient.
