Clara quickly backed away, pulling him in and shutting the door.
“We’re still at work! People will talk if they see us!”

won’t let them get away with it!”
Clara rolled her eyes, “You can shut their mouths, but you can’t control their minds! If you fire people
over this, they’ll only believe these rumors even more!”
“Clara, we are married, that’s a fact. Why should we be afraid of those rumors?”
“But I don’t want to make this public! People have already seen us together, and Ricardo’s words
bothered me! Please, don’t… don’t do this at work…”
Emmett paused for a moment, then burst out laughing!
Looking at her flushed cheeks, Emmett felt too embarrassed to persist..

Emmett feigned helplessness and sighed, “It seems you don’t care about me at all! Otherwise, why
would you say such heart–wrenching things? Do you have some other plan?”
Clara immediately shook her head, “Absolutely not! I’ve always been honest and straightforward, with
no ulterior motives!”
