Back in their room, Clara had just showered. Seeing Emmett walk in, she smiled and handed him a cup of coffee
from the table, “I just made this coffee, have
some.”
Emmett raised an eyebrow and asked, “Why the sudden act of kindness? Out with it! What happened?”
Clara chuckled, “It’s nothing really, just… I want to bring my father back to the country.”
“Why do you suddenly want to bring him back? Didn’t you say he’s always giving you a hard time?”.
“Yes, he’s definitely a pain in the ass, but he’s my dad! I don’t have any other family in this world, so I thought I’d
bring him back. Don’t worry; he won’t be living with me, and I’ll just stay in the country.”
Emmett looked at her as if trying to glean some clues from her eyes.
“What on earth happened? You’re acting odd today!”
Clara nervously ran a hand through her hair, trying to act nonchalant, “I just suddenly thought of it… Plus, my
father called me earlier. He seemed pretty decent like
he’s turned over a new leaf.”
Emmett frowned slightly and nodded.
“At his age… It’s not easy being alone overseas. If people found out, they’d think I’m a horrible daughter. Plus, he

Emmett frowned, but despite his doubts, he nodded, “If you say so, then I’ll let him come back.”
“Thank you for always considering me.” Clara didn’t want her father to return, but she had no choice! She couldn’t
let Emmett know this secret.
She didn’t care, but this might drag Elio Milburn into it!
She had to keep this secret at all costs.
“By the way, where did you go just now? Is there something going on at the company?”
“Oh, nothing. My mom called me over.”
Emmett initially wanted to tell her about Aiden and Alex’s biological mother, but in the end, he didn’t.
