guy! If I were a girl, I’d probably want to be your love rival!” Ricardo said, and he burst into laughter himself, “Too
bad I’m a guy!”
“Well, then you should strive to be as committed as Emmett.”
“What’s the point of being committed?” Ricardo retorted, “Do I have a handsome face like Mr. Melendez? Do I have
the social status that Mr. Melendez has? Mr. Melendez is committed, and he’s hailed as the most eligible bachelor!
But if I’m committed, people will just think I can’t find any other woman!”
“You sure don’t mince words about yourself.”

“I paused the meeting”

“I understand.” Clara smiled faintly and said, “Thanks for your concern, Mr. Melendez! I’ll head to the site now. You
should get back to your meeting!”
“Hmm.” Emmett responded softly before hanging up.
Looking at her phone, Clara felt a pang of guilt.

“What, Clara left again? You see, you’re not that important to her! It’s only you who are clinging on.”
Elio didn’t respond, as if he hadn’t heard her.
“Are you upset? Well, don’t take it out on me! I didn’t do anything to upset you! You got drunk; I didn’t make you do
that. Clara’s attitude towards you is not because of me.”

“Well, you can go back!” Leah sneered, clearly not pleased: “I’m not forcing you to stay here! You’re still hung up
on Clara; what does that
have to do with me?”
