Chapter 275 Kicked Out of Breath
Gavyn was at a loss for words. Pursing his lips, he silently placed his hand back under the blanket.
Aylin simply poured out all of the doubts she had kept in her heart. “Gavyn, I intended to ask you just
now. I know your skills. How could you not be able to beat a few thugs?”
She paused and demanded in a deep voice, “I want to hear the truth.”
“I was a little drunk and distracted, so I didn’t notice that someone was behind me.”
He was indeed drunk, and only he knew how drunk he truly was.
Aylin remembered that he didn’t like to drink very much as he had stomach problems. Gavyn also
restrained himself from drinking too much during social events.
“Why are you drinking alone?”
Gavyn looked over quietly with a kind of gaze that implied, “Don’t you know?”
What kind of look was that?
Could it be because of her?
Aylin frowned and her sharp gaze showed a trace of unhappiness. “Be serious. What kind of
compensation do you want? Just tell me. Don’t joke around.”
Gavyn seemed to be waiting for her to ask this, and he did not display any embarrassment as if being
exposed. He stated frankly, “I’m not short of money. I only need someone to take care of me overnight
for now.”
Aylin looked back in surprise, almost suspecting what she had just heard.
He wanted her to stay overnight with him?
Aylin replied decisively, “Impossible.”
Gavyn had already expected her to refuse, so he narrowed his eyes and said,
“Or, you can kiss me and the matter will be over.”
Aylin was totally astounded!
What a horror story!
Aylin looked at Gavyn in disbelief. She now deeply suspected that the injury to Gavyn’s head was not
as simple as a concussion.
“I wanted to have a proper conversation with you and you are still talking nonsense. It seems that you
have recovered well. Then there is no need for me to stay. Goodbye!” Aylin got up and left.
She didn’t think he really wanted her company. Three years ago, no matter how much she tried to

As he noticed Aylin was about to stride away in her high heels, Gavyn’s expression changed. “Aylin!”
Aylin didn’t turn around, but before she took two steps, she heard a thud behind her, followed by a
muffled grunt from the man.
Aylin tried hard to restrain her urge from turning around.
Noticing no response from her, Gavyn pursed his lips, his eyes red. He said sulkily, “If you want to
leave so badly, then leave.”
“After all, I can handle myself alone. It’s none of your business.”
Aylin took a deep breath and turned around.
Gavyn sat on the ground, grimacing in pain as he clutched his leg. It was covered with bruises and
abrasions, where iodine and ointment were applied. His skin was mottled with hardly a spot left
unscathed.
To be honest, it was Aylin’s first time seeing Gavyn in such a mess. It was quite amusing.
She took a few steps forward speechlessly and leaned down to pull Gavyn. The man’s body paused
slightly as raised his eyes to look at her. There seemed to be anger and resentment in his gaze. “Aren’t
you leaving?”
Aylin glanced at him and bit her red lips slightly.
“Lloyd is not here. I’m worried that you won’t be able to cope with yourself.
After all, we have signed the cooperation contract. I don’t want to change personnel at the last minute.”
Gavyn’s face darkened.
“You are cursing me.”
“Just one night.”
Both of them spoke at the same time. Aylin still decided to stay and take care of him for the night as an
apology for what Robert did.
Gavyn’s face instantly softened. “Fine, I reluctantly agreed for you to stay.”
Aylin was angry but felt funny at the same time.
There was only one bed in the room, and the two hadn’t slept together for a long time. Gavyn was
inexplicably a little nervous.
But to his surprise, after washing up, Aylin brought a blank from nowhere and laid it down on the floor
swiftly before turning off the light and lying down.
“I’m going to sleep. Call me if you need anything.”
Gavyn’s face darkened in the night.
However, looking at the woman’s slightly furrowed brows and her weary look, his expression calmed
down again. She seemed to be really tired after such a long night.
“Good night.”
No one responded, and he wondered if he spoke too softly.
Aylin closed her eyes and slept with a decent posture. Her breathing gradually stabilized.
Gavyn greedily gazed at her sleeping demeanor. It was only in moments like this that he could truly
take a good, serious look at her.
Perhaps due to overwhelming pressure, she frowned subconsciously in her sleep. Compared to her
usual unguarded innocence in the past, she appeared even more vulnerable. Even if she was fierce
and swift usually, in moments of relaxation, her original softness would surface.
Suddenly, he deeply yearned for every day and night of the past three years. Back then, he had the
chance to openly hold Aylin in his arms and savor the sight of her sleeping face all to himself…
For Aylin, she slept soundly this time.
She hadn’t been sleeping well lately, and she was stuck in a strange dream during her first half period
of sleep. Somehow, during the second half of her sleep, she suddenly felt at ease.
When she opened her eyes again, it was already dawn.
Light peeked through the curtains a little, and Aylin was still half asleep. Her eyes hadn’t fully opened,
but she felt that something was wrong.
She moved slightly and realized that she was not sleeping on the ground but on the hospital bed.
And she was lying in Gavyn’s arms!
Gavyn’s body was very close. As soon as she looked up, she could see his smooth and beautiful
jawline. The distance between both of them was indescribably amorous.
No wonder she felt warm in the second half of her sleep.
Aylin looked at Gavyn quietly. After a while, her eyes turned cold. She raised her foot and kicked him
out of bed mercilessly!
That kick was truly merciless. Gavyn was still in deep sleep when he suddenly rolled out of bed with a
thud, awakened by the pain from his whole body.
The wound on his abdomen seemed to hurt again, and his waist hit the end of the bed. Gavyn held his

“Who gave you the right to touch me!”
Gavyn said angrily, “I noticed that you didn’t sleep well, so I kindly gave up the hospital bed for you.
How can you repay my kindness with ingratitude?”
“Your kindness was to touch me without my permission?”
“I was afraid that you would fall out of bed, so I held you. Aylin, have you gotten the wrong idea?”
Gavyn narrowed his eyes at her.
Aylin gave him another kick without mercy.
This kick was right on his waist.
Gavyn almost choked on his breath when she almost kicked him to death.
He gritted his teeth and glared at her angrily. “Don’t you know that a man’s waist is very important?”
There was a hidden meaning behind his words.
Aylin raised his eyebrows. “I’m not a man. It doesn’t matter to me.”
Before Gavyn lost his temper, Aylin cut him off and cleared his throat. “All right, all right. I’ll help you
up.”
She couldn’t help but feel that Gavyn, perhaps influenced by his time with Waylon, had become more
talkative. In the past, he was as cold as frost to her.
He didn’t even bother to talk to her, let alone flirt with her.
When Aylin bent down to reach out, she ended up hitting her leg and hastily tried to find support but
failed. Consequently, she suddenly fell down.
It didn’t matter if she fell, but Gavyn was right in front of her.
She directly pounced on his body.
Unable to dodge in time, Gavyn watched as the petite figure of this woman pounced on him. Her petal-
like soft and pink lips gently brushed against his Adam’s apple.
He froze in an instant.
