Chapter 392 Breaking the Engagement
These days when Scott was hospitalized, he was sometimes sober.
Irvin would tell him about the recent events of the Duran family by the bedside.
He said that Alexa had been conferred a title together with Terrence, and had gone off with all the
money of the Duran Group.
Scott had schemed for a lifetime of money and power, but now all of it was destroyed by Alexa. It was
undoubtedly to take his life.
"They..."
Scott wanted to curse, but he exhausted his strength and fell heavily on the bed.
Christina sneered, her eyes red as she leaned over and grabbed Scott's neck.
"How dare you speak of my daughter like that?" Christina gritted her teeth in hatred. "For your
illegitimate child, you can even harm my children!"
In the beginning, when the Duran family fought, in order to protect the lives
of Keyon and Alexa, Christina had no choice but to listen to Scott's scheme and send her children to a
foreign land.
But after the matter settled down, Scott repeatedly refused to find Keyon and Alexa.
With the Duran family's strength, they could find news of her children easily!
"You have lied to me for so many years."
Tears welled up in Christina's eyes, but they were filled with hatred and unwillingness.
"Your lover died in labor. How can you blame me for not saving her?"
Christina lost control of her emotions and increased the strength in her hands. "Her child is the most
precious treasure in your heart, so what about my child? Scott, you really deserve to die!"
Scott had no strength to resist at all, and his face turned pale.
Christina's rationality almost completely disappeared, and if she was not
careful, she could suffocate Scott to death.
Scott's desire to live was especially strong. He tried hard to hold onto Christina's wrist.
The instrument next to her made an ear-piercing sound. Christina suddenly came back to her senses
and trembled as she released her hand.
Scott had already lost consciousness, and his heart rate was dropping rapidly.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtChristina had someone send Scott to the emergency room and finally saved his life.
When Scott was pushed back to the ward, Keyon was also at the scene.
Keyon looked coldly at Scott, and there was no pity in his eyes.
Christina tiredly took off her mask. Keyon carefully folded a handkerchief and wiped away the sweat on
her forehead.
"Mom."
Christina's nervousness eased. She hugged Keyon tightly to get some security.
Keyon gently patted her back. His determined eyes were gentle.
"It's fine. I'm here."
"He probably won't be able to hold on for much longer," Christina leaned against Keyon's chest and
said softly. "I asked someone to keep the medicine sample. Someone has tampered with his medicine."
"It's Irvin."
"Did you know that?"
"He has always been close to the medical department. He also goes to Scott's ward very often. I
always knew. I never stopped him," Keyon was not
surprised.
"Keyon..."
Keyon's eyelashes fluttered as he brushed Christina's hair.
"He has harmed us for so many years. He deserves it," Keyon calmly said. "If he hadn't secretly
stopped us, Alexa wouldn't have delayed her illness for so long, and she wouldn't have almost..."
Speaking up to this point, the pity in Christina's heart instantly disappeared.
Scott had always thought that Alexa's illness was an act of revenge for her. How could he be so
ruthless to his daughter?
The two of them chatted for a while, and Keyon sent Christina back to her room to rest.
"Right." Christina suddenly remembered something. "Alexa is asking about your marriage with Giselle."
When Christina mentioned Giselle, she was actually very dissatisfied.
She did not want her son's happiness to be buried by that crazy woman.
"Keyon, are you really going to marry her?" Christina forced a smile. "She is pathetic, but there is no
need for you to make it up to her. Do you love her?" Keyon did not answer.
A long time later, he said vaguely, "I haven't met someone I like, so it doesn't matter to me whether I
like her or not."
If he married Giselle, he could at least stabilize the Niebergall family.
For him, this was a very cost-effective deal.
"What if you meet that girl in the future? I can also help you find her,"
Christina said with a smile.
"I won't. After all, she became like this because of me," Keyon said with a
slight smile.
"Alright."
Christina did not try to persuade him anymore but reluctantly agreed.
"Then if you have time, you can go to New York and meet Alexa."
"Okay."
Keyon nodded in agreement, without any emotional ups and downs.
When he returned to his residence, Giselle had just brought out the last dish
from the kitchen.
"You're back," Giselle smiled gently. "Let's have dinner."
Keyon glanced at the dishes on the table that did not look very good.
"Leave these to the servants."
"It's still early after the follow-up today, so I want to cook for you."
After Giselle finished speaking, she handed over a fork with great
anticipation.
On the back of her thin hand, in addition to the spot, there were several
newly added burns.
Keyon held her hand. Giselle was obviously very surprised.
"Keyon?"
"Does it hurt?"
"Ah?"
Seeing his serious expression, Giselle thought that she had made him
angry.
"Keyon, did I cause you any trouble?" Giselle hurriedly shook her head. "It
doesn't hurt. It's fine."
Keyon didn't say a word and quickly got up to find the medicine box.
When he came back with the ointment, Giselle was still standing in the same place, feeling wronged
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmand about to cry.
"You have to protect yourself." Keyon's tone was very gentle. "Don't let
yourself get hurt again."
"Keyon... I'm afraid you think I'm useless. I know I'm not qualified to be your
wife, but I want to do my best to become better." Giselle was in tears the
whole time.
"The wedding will be held as soon as possible. I never meant to break the
engagement."
"Keyon, I..."
"You are my legal spouse, my wife."
He applied the ointment to her, and Giselle was stunned for a long time,
unable to react.
They looked at each other quietly for a moment, and the phone that Keyon had placed on the table
suddenly rang.
Giselle glanced at the note, then respectfully handed the phone to him.
"It's your sister."
"I have ointment in my hand. You can answer the phone."
After Keyon finished speaking, he took the medicine box and left.
Giselle knew this meant that Keyon was willing to believe her.
"I am... Giselle."
Hearing her voice, the person on the other side of the line was obviously
stunned.
Giselle's heart clenched.
She asked in fear, "Are you looking for Keyon? I'll give him the phone right
away."
"No. I'm looking for you," Alexa chuckled.
"Huh?"
Giselle was rather surprised and did not dare to communicate with Alexa.
"My mother wants you and my brother to have a wedding in New York, so I
came to ask for your opinion today."
Alexa paused and politely called out.
"You're my sister-in-law."
When Terrence heard this, he also looked over.
