Chapter 131

“Dare you bring up my dad?!” Gavin erupted before she could finish her sentence.

“As an agent, don’t you know the serious repercussions of slandering a public figure? And let's not forget, that

Natalie is your client! It's your job to protect her reputation!”

Rosie wilted like a deflated balloon, her voice dissipating into thin air.

But even if given a do-over for today, Rosie would still stand up for Natalie. She couldn't just stand by and watch

Natalie get pushed around.

“Just go hand hit the hay! And don’t bother showing up for dinner tonight! Go hand think about what

you've done!” Gavin paused for a few seconds, his anger unabated.

“Fine by me,” Rosie muttered under her breath.

With that, she pushed the car door open and stepped out.

Outside, Natalie gave her a look with a mix of frustration and resignation.

*Here, take my hotel room key card. Might as well lay low at the Film Stufor a while,” Natalie said, fishing out

a card from her purse and handing it to Rosie.

“Thanks for the lifeline,” Rosie said with a grin, slipping the card into her pocket.

Meanwhile, not too far off, a smartphone camera lens from an Audi was pointed at Gavin's car. Gracia’s fingers

were frantically tapping the record button.

If any of

“If you make our lives hell, you won't get Gracia hissed at her phone screen, watching Natalie get into Gavin's

car and the vehicle drive away, her voice filled with malice.

If Natalie wanted a war, Gracia was prepared to go down fighting, even if it meant mutual destruction.

At Majestic Meadows Manor.

Brian had been out at a business dinner, his tie askew as he opened the front door, only to find Davis sitting in

the living room, helping Nate race his toy cars.

“You should've givena heads-up before coming over,” Brian said, pausing at the entrance, his tone neutral.

Reid stood by, silently looking down.

Nate was due for a checkup on his leg today, so Reid had brought him back, but Natalie was supposed to

accompany them.

Brian didn’t expect to find Davis here.

Without a word, Brian glanced toward the shoe area by the door. No high heels meant Natalie hadn't come. Then

he shifted his gaze away.

“Why didn’t you tellabout Nate's injury?” Davis locked eyes with Brian, returning the question.

“Just a minor scrape, nothing to worry about.” Brian replied, his face expressionless.

He walked over to the fridge, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, twisted off the cap, and guzzled

it down.

The Howard family had never shown much concern for Nate. Even during the past three years.. no matter what

happened to the boy, Davis never inquired. His presence today was clearly for more than just checking on Nate.

“He’s my great-grandson too,” Davis said, frowning at Brian.

Brian turned around, meeting his gaze once more. “It’s a light injury as you can see.”

Davis darkened his expression and pondered for a few seconds. He put Nate down and stood up, walking

towards the dining area where Brian was.

As he stepped out of the living room, he casually shut the door behind him.

Nate looked through the glass doors for a moment, watching as Davis approached Brian and said something with

a stern face.

From behind the door, the words were muffled and indistinct.
