After dinner, Maia went into the kitchen to bake her cookies for Hans.
Beverley Manor was a beautiful place, especially in the evening. The place was illuminated with warm orange lights and the lake
in the middle added a scenic view to the manor with a beautiful lakeside hut to finish the touch.
Hans was a fan of lakes, so he wanted his manor to look like it was built by a lake. As the evening skies gave way to the night,
Hans started to play some of his favorite music as he enjoyed the cookies made by Maia.
Cedric obviously had no interest in any form of leisure as he was busy working on his laptop. He was going through his work
emails, checking them for any important updates.
He stopped reading through them when he came across an email sent by Baz.
‘Mr. Cedric. We’ve just found out that Ms. Maia is planning to buy Nebula Entertainment. According to our marketing team,
Starlight Entertainment had already sent their marketing and legal teams over for discussions.
‘Ms. Maia has also look into different prospects of purchasing the company. She seems determined to purchase Nebula
Entertainment.
‘However, this purchase may not be the best idea as Nebula Entertainment will not be much of an asset to Starlight
Entertainment. They have been depending solely on Hope Warren as their main source of income for years.
‘I’ve also dug deeper into why Starlight Entertainment chose to purchase Nebula. Entertainment. I’ve found out that it was
because of Hope’s contract dispute with her
company. Ms. Maia was probably trying to help her sister.”
Baz also attached a large file in the email. There were photographs of Starlight Entertainment staff entering and exiting Nebula
Entertainment, as well as a draft of their purchasing contract.
After studying the email thoroughly, Cedric closed his laptop and walked toward the garden. with his cellphone.
Baz answered as soon as he called.
“Yes, boss?”.
“I want you to help Starlight Entertainment with their purchase.”
“You mean to make sure the deal goes smoothly?”
“Yes, and I want you to let the public know that the reason why Starlight Entertainment did. this was solely because of profit.”

would be difficult for Maia to convince the board of directors to agree on the purchase just because of one artist.
This was exactly why he needed Baz to release information that Maia’s decision of purchasing Nebula Entertainment was not
due to personal reasons. The main reason should be to ensure that Starlight Entertainment would be able to profit from it.
“Really? Looks like it’s time to put Sunny Videos into good use.”
“Got it!” Baz finally got the message after being reminded by his boss.
Originally, Baz thought the reason for Cedric investing a huge amount of money in purchasing Sunny Videos was so that he
could appear at The Quest’s shooting location. His assumption had not been entirely correct.
Sunny Videos was actually Cedric’s way of entering the entertainment industry and getting closer to Maia. He could also then
leverage the company to help her get a leg up in the industry
when she needed it.
When Cedric came back into the living room after his phone call, Hans was still listening to his
music as he finished his cookies.
“Maia’s cookies are the best! One more plate, please!”
Fernando took the plate from Hans and said, “You’ve had a lot to eat tonight. I’ll place them in a jar, and you can have more of
them tomorrow. Maia had also packed the remaining cookies. in a bag.”
Hans started throwing a tantrum after Fernando stopped him. “I want to eat them now!”
Cedric walked into the room just as Fernando was having a hard time. He immediately looked to Cedric for help. “Mr. Cedric, Mr.
Larkin is making a fuss again. He’s already had too much to eat today.”
Hans glared at Fernando and pouted unhappily at the exchange.
“Grandpa, are you sure you want more?” Cedric looked at him with a stern gaze.
Hans turned his back to Cedric and complained in a soft voice. “Why would Maia like someone. as scary as you? There are
better men out there! How dare you reprimand your own grandfather?”
When Maia came out of the kitchen, she noticed that the atmosphere was tense. She walked up to Fernando and asked, “What’s
the matter?“.
“Mr. Larkin wanted to have more cookies, but Mr. Cedric rejected his request.”

“Maia, see how they’re trying to keep me away from my cookies! You should reconsider your options and look for someone
kinder than Cedric!” Hans huffed angrily.
She nodded. “You’re right, grandpa. He’s not good enough for me!‘
Even though Maia was just agreeing to what Hans had said, her words cut through Cedric’s heart like a knife.
When Hans heard Maia agreeing with him, he could not help but panic. Although his memory was not as good as it used to be,
he was still of sound mind.
“No, no! I was just joking. Maia, you have to continue to love my grandson! Look at him, he’s so handsome, tall, and rich. I’m
sure you’ll both be happy together! I’m still waiting for my great–grandchild!”
“Which is more important? Your cookies or a great–grandchild?” Cedric questioned calmly. Hans thought for a moment before
finally deciding, “My great–grandchild!”
