Chapter 147 Little Liar
However, that emotional barrier in Maia’s heart was insurmountable. She dared not love again, especially not him.
“Do you know what I used to think about the most?” Maia’s calm voice broke the silence.
“Me,” he confidently uttered that word.
Maia chuckled. “So, you knew all along.”
She loved him so much that she lost herself, as if she were living just for him. She loved him recklessly, willing to do anything just
to catch his eye.
“I know better than anyone how much you love me. I also know better than anyone how much you hate me.”
Hearing his words, Maia lowered her eyes and smiled. “Since you know everything, why act like this now?”
“Hope.”
“Hope?”
“I hope that you will be like before, hoping that I love you.”
He was the same now. He hoped she would fall in love with him again, hoping for another
chance.
“There’s no chance. There won’t be another chance. Have you forgotten what I told you... about me and Nigel?”
“You little liar.”
Her heart pounded rapidly. Somehow, her entire body began to warm up, and her head felt a bit dizzy. She gently shook her
head, attempting to maintain a certain level of clarity.
Then his words echoed from behind. “You’re not engaged to him.”
He continued to speak confidently, which further stunned Maia. She knew denying it would be pointless. The fact that Cedric
spoke with such certainty meant he had already investigated.

“Not before, maybe in the future. Nigel mentioned it to me...”
“I told you before that I would win you by force.”
She belonged to him, and he wouldn’t allow any man to covet her, let alone allow w anyone else to claim her beauty. His girl
could only be his forever until his death.
“You’re really crazy.”

Cedric smirked devilishly. “Do you want to see me act even crazier?”
Maia suddenly felt a dangerous atmosphere. In the instant she turned her head, Cedric had already pressed her into the recliner
on the balcony.
“No... you can’t!”
Somehow, a sensation of dizziness overwhelmed her. Immediately after, a more intense heat enveloped her.
“Mmm...”
Maia couldn’t control herself. A soft moan escaped her lips, and her misty eyes were filled with moisture.

What was happening to her? She had been fine just a moment ago, so why couldn’t she summon any strength now?
“Ced-”

“Hmm?” He lowered his voice, breathing warmth into her ear.
Maia’s head felt muddled. She had no idea what was happening to her. “I–I...”
She felt an intense heat all over her body. When his chest touched hers, she felt a sudden coolness.
Feeling herself becoming increasingly sluggish, she thought it was like falling into a cauldron, and only he could cool her down.
Cedric chuckled, seeing her soft, powerless state. He reached out and effortlessly lifted her into his arms.
Carrying her, he walked towards the bedroom.
“Little liar, do you still love me?”
She shook her head.
“You don’t love me?”
Cedric felt a bit dissatisfied. After placing her on the bed, he turned to leave.
However, she couldn’t be away from him in her current state.
“Please don’t go...”
“There’s no need for me to stay if you don’t love me.
Maia quickly denied, “No...”
“No?”.

Maia couldn’t speak. She had lost the ability to think, only being able to shake her head repeatedly.
Looking at her on the bed, all flushed, he asked again, “You really don’t love me, hmm?”
“I dare not to love... I can’t love... Love is unallowed...”
“Only you can change that.”
Maia shook her head continuously. She was in a half–asleep, half–awake state, completely unaware of what she was doing. She
had lost all consciousness and had no idea who the person in front of her was.
“No, I can’t!”
Even in this state, she knew that she couldn’t love Cedric. It was precisely because of this realization that he became somewhat
annoyed and once again got up to leave her. Losing his presence, Maia felt even hotter. She started reaching for her clothes.
He furrowed his brows. How could a normal man, especially one who deeply loved his woman, remain indifferent?
“Silly girl, you didn’t even realize when grandpa drugged you.”
She had drunk that cup of tea faster than anyone could have anticipated. By the time Cedric noticed something was amiss, she
had already finished it. Unexpectedly, an elderly man had gone to such lengths for the sake of his great–grandchild.
Cedric looked at her flushed appearance, feeling heartache, but he needed to clarify the
fundamental issue. He would never take advantage of someone in a vulnerable state, especially not her. He didn’t want it to be
like this.
He then opened a voice recorder, asking once again, “Do you really don’t love me? Little liar.”
He lowered his head, his deep voice carrying a hint of coaxing. Maia continued shaking her head, as if the concept of not loving
him had been ingrained throughout her entire being.
Cedric became a bit impatient, pushing back the stray strands of hair on her forehead. With patience, he continued coaxing her,
“Please love me, would you?”

“Hmm.”
Maia had no idea what she was saying. She just followed his lead. The man in front of her, however, abruptly tore open her
clothes just as the word fell.
The next second, the curtains automatically closed, plunging the room into darkness. He kissed her lips, savoring her sweetness.
The moment he regained possession of her, he affectionately kissed her forehead, afraid that

The enigmatic atmosphere in the room persisted, just like him.
Meanwhile, in another room at Beverley Manor, Fernando looked nervously at Hans. “Mr. Hans, you drugged Maia behind
Cedric’s back. He’s definitely going to figure it out.”
“If he figures it out, so be it. This drug won’t cause any problems for her anyway. For the sake of my great–grandchild, I must
take such action! I’ll help them if they don’t try hard! Can’t you tell, old man?
“Their relationship isn’t as good as before, especially with Maia. She doesn’t treat Cedric the way she used to. I’ve noticed it.
Can you blame me for being anxious seeing this situation?”
