Chapter 198 I’m Happy If She’s Happy
It was unseasonably warm. The night breeze was both hot and dry. Errol was sitting quietly on a bench in the hospital yard,
smoking a cigarette.
He reached into the case to take another cigarette when the last one burned out. However, the case was already empty. The
ashtray on top of the trashcan was already full of cigarette butts.
Errol pulled his hair, frustrated. Then, someone offered him a cigarette. He stood up abruptly when he saw who it was and
signed, “Greetings, Cedric.”
“There’s something on your mind.” Cedric stood next to him and said firmly. He knew Cedric was not well–versed in sign
language, so he took out his phone and started typing.
“What made you say that?”
“You know the answer,” Cedric said coldly.
Errol took a sharp breath and typed, “No. I’ve nothing to say.”
Cedric sneered. “So much for your love for Celia.”
“What about your love for Maia? You hurt her so badly in the past! You know all too well how much pain she went through!”
Cedric said sharply, “I cherish her now more than ever because of what happened in the past!” Losing her once made him
realize just how much she meant to him. She was worth more to him than his own life.
He was happy as long as she was happy. It was just that simple.
Errol lowered his head and put out his cigarette.
Cedric saw the way he acted. “I hope you won’t regret it,” he said, before turning to leave.
Errol stood up and blocked Cedric when he heard what he said. He couldn’t speak, but he signed rather aggressively, “Wait a
minute.”

Then, he took his phone out and typed swiftly, “There’s something I need to say, Cedric. You and Maia should know about it! You
were right. I can’t afford to have regrets.
“I have the power to do something for Celia. I can’t just remain quiet now. I love her. I have to protect her!”
Cedric stopped. He saw how fast Errol was typing on his phone and realized that he had made
up
his mind to tell the truth.
“Aunt Tess voiced out her displeasure against Celia before this incident. She said Celia was too young and immature. Celia may

“Celia was a renowned actress. We have no idea how many male actors she’s friends with. No one could guarantee our
relationship would last...”
Errol shook his head again and again. He stopped for a while before continuing to type.
“As a matter of fact, Celia had nothing to contribute to my winery. Being Pinot Nuage’s spokesperson did bolster her standing in
the entertainment industry, but it did virtually nothing for the winery’s revenue.
“Aunt Tess wanted me to marry the daughter of a shipping company’s CEO. She’s mute too. We’ve met several times. She liked
me a lot, but I couldn’t go through with it.
“I love Celia. Why would I marry someone I don’t love just for the sake of the winery?”

Errol continued. “Aunt Tess warned me to prioritize the winery. She said there aren’t many marriages in wealthy families that are
based on love. She asked Maia to sign Celia on because I begged her repeatedly.
“I was too embarrassed to ask Maia myself back then. That’s why I asked for Aunt Tess’s help. I wanted Celia to have a good
career.
“The fact that Aunt Tess talked to Maia about it proved that she found Celia valuable. My pleading helped too. At least, that’s
what I thought.”
“However, you still refused to marry the CEO’s daughter,” Cedric said.
Errol nodded and continued to type, “There’s no way I’ll say yes to it. I won’t marry someone purely for business. I, too, wanted
to marry the lady I love and live out the rest of my days with her. Furthermore, Celia was already pregnant with my baby by then.
“I told Aunt Tess about her pregnancy and that Celia agreed to quit her job as an actress. We’ll reveal our relationship to the
public once Celia’s current shoot ends. I told Aunt Tess I hoped. she would stop trying to persuade me to marry the CEO’s
daughter.
“To my surprise, Aunt Tess said that Celia isn’t committed to her work and all she wanted was to marry into a wealthy family.
“She said Celia getting pregnant before marriage proved that she was a slut, and that we can’t know for sure if the baby is really
mine. After all, she works in the entertainment industry.
“She demanded that I get Celia to abort the baby and said that she’ll do it for me if I don’t have the heart for it. She said she’ll
break us up if I won’t part with Celia for the good of the winery!”
Errol started getting worked up. His hands were shivering and he had a strange look in his

eyes.
“I had it out with Aunt Tess right there and then. She got in touch with me several times after

“However, Maia said that someone deliberately planned the attack on Celia. I thought about it and decided Aunt Tess was very
likely the culprit.
“That’s just how she is. If anything goes against her wishes, she’ll intervene and make sure she gets what she wants.
“Aunt Tess had been interfering more frequently ever since Maia came back. I can’t put a finger on what she’s trying to achieve.”
Errol shook his head in fear.
Cedric looked calmly at the large body of text in Errol’s phone.
“Is this why you’re suspicious of her?” he asked Errol.
“I know it’s not right to suspect her. After all, she was the only one who helped us back then. That’s why I didn’t say anything
earlier. However, I don’t want to carry any regrets.
“I should’ve said it out the moment I suspected something. Perhaps this information could, in turn, help Celia. She’s gone
through too much for my sake.” Errol’s eyes turned red.
“Sometimes, I wonder if I’m in the wrong. If I hadn’t bumped into Celia in the city, then I probably wouldn’t have fallen in love with
her. If I had dated her secretly and kept a lid on our relationship, then Celia would’ve been safe.
“That said, I can’t dwell on the what–ifs and my regrets. I simply can’t imagine what’s going to happen if Aunt Tess really had a
hand in this incident.”
“I’ll let Maia know about it.” Cedric said nonchalantly. He placed a packet of cigarettes on the bench and left.
