Chapter 1185 Agness nodded contently and then grumbled at her son, "Your future wife was bullied, and you did nothing but stand there. Do | need to show you how to act?" James saw this coming but didn't think it would happen so quickly. "She's smart and speaks up well, so | don't even need to step in." Hearing James call her smart, Esther felt a bit embarrassed. She didn't want to come off as snooty. She scoffed and quickly grabbed Agnes's arm. "You're right, Aunt Agnes. He just watched and did nothing." Being this close to Agnes for the first time made Esther happy, and Agnes joked, "Esther is such a dear to me, unlike my son. | might as well adopt her and send him off to do odd jobs." James scratched his face and tried to change the subject as Sydney tried not to laugh. "Mom, we're not alone. Others: can hear us." Agnes scoffed. "So what if they can?"
To avoid a bigger argument, James gave up. "Fine, just say whatever you want." Agnes introduced Esther to Sydney. "This is my future daughter-in-law, and | love her. Can you make her some outfits?" Sydney was a little surprised. "I'm not as good as Pearl when it comes to designing. Has she not designed any clothes for you?" Esther froze. Pearl mentioned doing that, but all she could think about was food... "She did," she answered awkwardly.

James's smile disappeared, replaced by a pained look.
"You're trying to Kill your future husband, huh?" "No, just getting back at you," Esther replied.
Agnes smiled seeing them bantering.
"In that case, | wouldn't want to embarrass myself. You
should wait for Pearl's designs," Sydney finally said, understanding the situation.

Sydney looked a bit worried. "If her designs are better, mine will just collect dust." So, Sydney was worried about her designs being overlooked. Even though she acknowledged that Pearl was really good at what she does, she still had her pride.
Seeing how things were going, Agnes decided not to bother Sydney about making new clothes. Instead, she chose some lovely pieces for Esther and they all went home together.
And, of course, James was right there with them, carrying their shopping bags.
